I may be paraphrasing that quote a bit :)

Sunburn for everyone!

Is it bad that I read this in Minsc's voice?

Not sure why the need for the retrograde rotations and such...   Its just in the Southern Hemisphere.   Just like here on Earth, If you are on a continent in the Southern Hemisphere it gets warmer as you go north (toward the equator) and colder as you go south (towards the pole).

It just so happens that on Earth there is very little land in the southern temperate zones as compared to the north, which is why 90% of the human population lives in the Northern Hemisphere here on Earth.

perhaps Navasha that is because the world poles are pulling the islands we all call continents away from its equator

oh man i just dropped some blood magic into the text pool of the tech geeks.  I shall be flamed and tranquil'd for that comment.

No, because none of that implies any design other than the default understanding of Earth that 99% of humans would have when siting down to write a story about a fictional world.  Actually, maybe that is satisfying in a way.  It proves that you misread my posts.

More like proof you don't read even your own posts:

"It's probably a reflection of how the planet is actually set up with regards to their sun."

Right there it is. You assume the creators even care about things like a planet's relation to a sun.

It's a fictional world with magic. It doesn't a sun to have a warm, moderate and/or cold climate. All it needs is a writer that says so. Is it likely the writer draws from his own perception that's dominated by our own world? Yes. Does it mean he cares squat about whether that applies to his work? No. That's something you're simply assuming. People do lots of things without any reasons for it all the time. Why would an average writer for a game be different? What law of nature dictates that they put thought into their design as to where the blob of pixels that's going to be their ingame sun would be if they have a particular climate template?

But whatever, I'm done trying to argue with a self-gratifying, belligerent person like you who will accept nothing but the affirmation of their own words.

Good day.

maybe the world is tidal locked

Except if that was true, we'd not have a day/night cycle in the games?

As for the last few posts, I'm confused... we know that Thedas has both a sun, as well as a climate that gets warmer in the north suggesting that they are south of their Equator, so what evidence do we have that the laws of nature are operating via magic and not simply science as we understand it?

Not to say that magical worlds can't break the rules of physics, but we've had no signs that anything cosmology-wise is out of whack?

They are in the northern hemisphere, all maps of Thedas are upside down.

They are in the northern hemisphere, all maps of Thedas are upside down.

And the point of that would be...? Moreover, proof?

There could be an Asian equivalent in their world and not even know it.
