Wow, what are the odds, considering we were just discussing-
Ok I have no excuse for bumping this thread except I want to know what anime/JPRG girl that is in your icon Liam. I can't tell you how many games I've enjoyed on the basis of one cool looking character...

I hope everyone in here has played Fire Emblem. Because if not, for shame.

I have. Sadly I only discovered it recently.

Yeah all the Fire Emblems have their moments, I feel like FE:A was a lot of people discovering that for the first time.
@Liam
Hey so this Ar no Surge is available for PS3... hmmm.... plus it's a sequel to another No Surge type game.
I'm sure you have already done this before but do you want to just give the Ar Tonelico breakdown in total. I'm like 95% of the way through AT2, and that's all I have. Like how would you rank them all? AT3 looked kind of screwy to me... but these Surge ones look a lot better.

I haven't completed ar no surge yet so I can't score that yet but I did read a online translation of ciel nosurge so I can do that. AT2>AT1>Ciel nosurge>AT3
AT3 is by no means bad it's just the tone bounces all over the place. On one side you have "purging" and loads of other pervy lighthearted silliness then after phase 2 is completed it disappears almost entirely it's bizarre. Hell Finnel has the darkest and most brutal cosmosphere in the entire series.

It sounds like the games all follow a similar model, which is probably kind of good kind of awkward from my perspective. The crafting and random things like the dives into the comosphere and baths are fun, as well as talk topics etc, but the core combat system and level design has been very meh. This is AT2 I mean.
The thing is though, just based on the strength of the characters and OST and stuff like that I could see really getting into one.. er another one, I mean.

The problem with the combat system is that they do an entirely different one each time so it always lacks polish. Excerpt Ar nosurge which has shockingly good (if way too easy) combat. The level design sucks all across the series Ar nosurge has remedied it slightly but I still got a little lost at one point but that may be fault.

Currently looking at Neptunia ReBirth. It does look rather interesting and it would give me a reason to once again use my Vita which hasn't happened often enough lately

Felt like giving a new franchise a shot and that's really been what the Vita has done the most for me. Without it there would never have been any Persona or Danganronpa. Now I only need to wait for the Vita to download the game ![]()

Mwahaha. Just ask whenever you feel like it and I will tell you how to get it.
You'll probably have to remind me about it at some point. But I'll probably report my experience with Neptunia in this thread over the course of a few weeks so you'll probably get the chance. It's time to play all the things!

There's a anime too. That's how he got me, watched the anime, and next thing I know I own a PS3 and a Vita and every localized game in the franchise.

Hrm... honestly at some point I'm thinking of just grinding down like all the Atelier games and all the random Gust/Atlus/Falcom games in one weekend or something, get up to date on all this.
Er well actually that sounds impossible maybe 1 week more like...

Ehhh I was mainly thinking of the more recent entries, like PS3 era and handhelds. That would cut it down.
I looked at it anyway though and I've honestly played a pretty fair amount of those already. The trickiest would be the Gust games because there are like 3 for every new sort of theme or whatever it is they're doing there.
I could mow down all the Gust games over like a 2-3 week period though. I once did Suikoden 1 and 2, each were like 20-25 hours or so each on one weekend.. multiple times actually.
If I really want to though hmm... I'm more inclined to just get the one recognized as best and go from there.
