Well i'm fine with it like that. Embarrassing yes but I'm ok with it if it's important to the plot.

Oh right. Might point out that the Kickstarter is to bring over both the 18+ version and en "all-ages" version that removes the actual sex scenes. It's still a mature novel though, so it's apparently made clear what happened, it's just the actual sex that is not shown.

Been watching 999 reviews on YouTube for the past two days. I always like seeing what "normal" reviewers take away from the game when they finish.

You know the combat in AT2 is better than I remember, it's got the weird Synchro thing that I don't really understand but seems cool. The whole anime cutscenes for Repleika and so on is pretty great.
On the other hand I flat out

Ok Mr. honor student. All these fancy high tech web gadgets, why in my day you had to print all caps SPOILERS with red ink in order to get people's attentions. You whippersnappers with your special BBCcodes and-
Ok I'll stop now.

Well if your brain is like mine maybe you'll forget the entire plot one day and voila! Just like the first time.
Seriously though, AT2's plot is like enough for 4 novels, there's so much stuff crammed in that game. I never even understood why the world is destroyed and above in the first place, or where Jacqli comes from, or a dozen other things, but I guess that's because I haven't played AT1.

Yeah a lot of stuff is in AT1 but a lot of things about the world are in the ingame glossary it was translated by a monkey though so just read the wiki instead

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re; Birth 1 has taught me the dangers of interrupting pudding time. Something I'll never ever do no matter what. Pudding time is sacred!

Really enjoying my time with Neptunia! This game is really up my alley and I can absolutely appreciate the way it make me regret thinking "heal or no heal" and a few seconds later scramble to not end up dead. Grinding for lvls isn't that bad either when I get the chance to listen to some rather awesome soundtracks. It's also so easy to pick up and grind for 20 min when I find extra time on my hands. That's really something that's useful at the moment for me when time is unusually short on hand

I'm quite enjoying it too, but the grinding's actually putting me off picking it up quite as much. Taking 30 minutes out to just be to deal with Noire was a bit of a pain. It keeps the combat challenging though so there's a plus.
On the other hand, its made me return to Katawa Shoujo to try another route, Hanako's this time and... well, it goes about how you'd expect.
Still, that game's nothing if not providing in self insight. Turns out I really like jazz if I give it half a moment.

Did you make the Easy Mode item?
I did that and didn't know what grinding meant.

man, that series is great and the psp ports of 1and 2 are excellent.Star Ocean is so screwy at times...
that game is pretty good.Playing Scarlet Fate on IOS and liking most of the routes so far.
Sad that Gentoka is the best looking but his route is my least favorite. It's still a good route don't get me wrong but compared to the others it's not as good.
Those ears tho...
finally.Rejoice, my UK brethren.

Hey does anyone know which song is this one on AT2, I'm too lazy right now to actually find it. It plays on Jacqli's cosmosphere level 6.

I only played the PS version of 2, but yes I agree generally about SO. SO4 kept a lot of that spirit which is nice, I think it's the last one they're making though. Myuria is probably my favorite character...

I'll look into it.
Or at least I will until Liam gets here and knows. exactly what song it is, given he's my superior when it comes to Ar Tonelico

Just remembered this indie game I played a while ago that I liked quite a bit. Probably not the best fit for this thread, but whatever.
It's not from Japan, but it has this vaguely anime-ish art style (or like, something weird halfway between anime and western animation) and OST. Also the Metroidvania style gameplay traditionally comes from Japanese titles. Though it has significant RPG elements as well. I liked it.

Yeah, but probably too late on. I don't like just lowering the 'difficulty' on stuff so I didn't use it at first.

Well it looks sort of interesting, maybe I'll try it at some point. I'm glad that being anime like in this instance doesn't automatically mean furry.
At least that's my experience with other anime-esque means from western game companies. It's like it's our Japanese inspired title! Everything is an animal. I can't remember the exact game that did that but I was like ewww.
I'm not entirely sure Japan inspires that kind of thing... ahem... yeah.

Are you talking about Dust: An Elysian Tail? I couldn't get into that because the bad voice acting and the art style that seemed more Disney than anime to me... good soundtrack though.
That trailer doesn't show it but Valdis Story actually has two playable characters. The other one is a girl with more of a cleric/paladin archetype. Apparently they're gonna add another two characters sometime in the infinite future, a guy with guns and a demon girl (who are currently NPCs).
