Disgaea V is probably going to be ok

 

 

It's hard not to at least mention FFXV... personally I'm not sure whether it'll be fun but who knows for sure at this point.

So. Got the Kingdom Hearts .5 HD collections as a bit of an early Christmas gift to myself.

Very excited to play BBS with actual camera control.

 

And to see Aquas sexy back in HD

Back when they had those first trailers I figured it could be pretty great, I was waiting... and waiting..... and waiting......

 

Then they came out with this trailer where it's a road trip and it's like Monster Hunter or something. If it even remotely approximates that early Versus XIII concept it could be pretty cool.

 

I feel like Kazughe Nojima handling all the scenarios and stuff means it should be pretty cool, but it seems to me they just don't know what gameplay concept they should be using and it's also grating on the story concepts at this point. Although I'm not sure how exciting a kind of Mafia/Yakuza idea really is in the end.

 

I guess basically it seems like it could break either way.

Well I'm not really a fan of sense anyway.

 

I'd probably play it no matter what if not for the PS4 thing... I'm sure there would be enough fun to be had.. 9 years of development issues and alll... but I don't know if I want to get one just for a few games....

So far 15 doesn't look too bad design wise. Though they could go full retard on some late game character. It seems someone at square enix has a thing for black leather though.

That Cindy character's outfit looks dumb almost at Hideo Kojima level even. The supposed 'main cast' look like the Japanese equivalent of the Backstreet Boys, though outfit-wise, there are less zippers and extravaganza going on. Square has a tendency for crafting outfits with absurd tacky coattails, zippers everywhere and what not -- It's incredibly zany.

In relations to the main cast, sure -- But seriously, mechanic girl's outfit is just... ugh. But it's definitely not as whack as has it has been with previous games or Kingdom Hearts.

Incidentally, once I finish Persona Q in the nearest future, I'll probably play some more Digital Devil Saga and the steam version of Valkyria Chronicles.

Most of my attention will probably shift to Nintendo for a bit, since there are a few games for the Wii-U and now 3DS (ironically) I want now.
