Thanks!

Might aswell check this while I'm here but does the anime in any shape or form spoil anything for me or is it safe to just binge watch it tonight?

It is a sorta adaption/spin off of mk2 and victory. It does quite a lot differently though but it spoils some events. It's up to you. Also warning for rebirth2 and the anime. CFW trick is the worst character in all of fiction.

I don't do a whole lot of reading up on Neptunia, but that word... 'conquest'. That comes up a lot. And people don't seem to like it much.

Welp, guess I'll find out what's so bad about it one day.

For now, I have a New 3DS XL and got some eshop credit with it, so I finally bagged Rune Factory 4.

If I can manage to tear myself away from Monster Hunter for a few hours, it'll be my first go with that series. And I have high hopes.

I was thinking on getting Monster Hunter 4 as well, since I liked Dragon's Dogma, and it was developed by the same peepz. My enjoyment of Persona Q has also made me consider the Etrian series as well.

I'm not sure its safe for me of all people to be doing so, (I'm an MH fanatic) but I'll wholeheartedly endorse Monster Hunter.

The core series gameplay's just about refined to perfection. The co-op multiplayer is the most fun I've ever had with a video game (Local MP does it best, but this one has online now, so that's good too).

There's a ton of content. Just over two weeks with it and I've somehow managed to put in over seventy hours, and barely scratched the surface of the game. Due in part to me stupidly using almost all of the 14 weapon classes and having to grind them up. But still.

Just don't expect much in the way of story. There's more to it than previously in the series, but it's barely a narrative. Mostly just world building. Which is fine by me, and the devs seem to 'get' that it's not really what the series is about.

Its not a bad thing, but I just feel like stressing that if your expectations are based off of Dragons Dogma, which I never played. So I don't really know if that was big on story.

Plus it gives me free DLC like this. So I really have nothing bad to say.

Awakening dlc? Specifically Lucina DLC? Sold.

There wasn't any story in Dragon's Dogma either, but that's not what sold that game anyway.

Ah, that's alright then. Good.

And yup. The DLC's a loosely related quest line, with the reward of either of those ^ as armor at the end of it, depending on your characters gender.

Its not out over here just yet (Japan's a little ahead of schedule over the rest of us), but they should be doing weekly free dlc starting this Friday, kicking off with a Zelda one.

Spoiler

They've pandered to a lot of fanbases with their cosplays over the years. Can't say I mind.

It won't be in 4 but their best one's easily the Madoka one.

So it's sort of a JRPG... but yeah FFXIV has been most impressive all the way to the end. It's a heavy time sink to get through it all.. like 300 hours maybe... but going a bit at time it's been satisfying for sure. It reminds me more of a I-IX FF than a X or XIII type.

Close to done with Re;Birth 2 but will have to leave the last chapter until after my math test tomorrow. But I'm totally caught in Hyperdimension Neptunia so will be looking forward to the other games

The one thing that kind of worried me though was the narrative and stuff.. I'm ok with grinding out stuff at times but if there is nothing to support it then it gets harder.

It's such a popular series though it seems like I must be missing something.

Shame on me for not noticing this update earlier: Mother 4 slated for around June, some snippets of gameplay:

Looks like the main mechanics of Mother 3 like the rhythm-attack system is back. Coolio.

Yeah, that's why I felt like I had to make mention of it. There's just not a whole lot going on plot wise.

Though grinding is pretty much what you make of it. It all depends on how many of the 14 weapon classes you'll end up using. Most people (especially beginners) won't go beyond just one or two, and in that case you could probably avoid grinding entirely.

Give the demo a go if you haven't already and see how you find that.

Oh ok then. You already know about Neptunia so I don't have to bother with suggesting them. I can link you to any ISO or youtube playlists if you ask.

Ar tonelico. Watch or emulate 1. Emulate and patch the fan localization for 2, Buy 3 for PS3, read Ciel no surge summary online, Buy Ar nosurge for PS3

Disgaea. 1 and 2 should be watched on youtube or emulator. 3 and 4 you should buy for vita D2 is only on PS3

Atelier. Emulate or youtube Iris 3 and Mana khemia 1 and 2. Skip Arland trilogy (for the love of god please skip it) Play Atelier Ayesha + on vita play Escha and Logy and Shallie on PS3.

Odin sphere. It's on PS2 but the game was quite cheap last time I checked amazon you could emulate it though.

That should last you at least a year. I'll suggest more when you've be a decent size dent into them so you don't get overloaded like Grav did. I would suggest starting with Ar tonelico but thats my own personal bias.

Good, good! Lots of options! Will have to pillage my brothers room for a functional PS3 but I doubt he will notice if it's gone.

Will probably be easier for me to deal with anything that's on the Vita until I nab the PS3 but at least I do have quite a few options now, gaming be happenin' yo!

Most of the Vita games tend to be later in the series sadly. God I wish these had PSN releases or vita ports. It would make things much less complicated.

Well at least you will be paying them later on in the series. If they ever got PSN or steam or whatever ports you can think of just be sure to buy them.

Liam, you can't feel embarrassed after calmly stating how you overloaded me with Hyperdimension Neptunia series played, Mugen Souls series watched, Ar Tonelico/Surge Concerto played and read, Disgaea going to watch and play, Grisaia no Kajitsu played Sachi's route, Senran Kagura played, and Katawa Shoujo in a year's time.
