Oh yeah, I do mean 5. Edited to reflect proper numbering.
While I'm here I also saw a video for Mobius Final Fantasy. I'm kinda not really sure what's going on with that game to be honest.

Playing Ar noSurge, as in I've logged 20 hours in the last 3 days.
It's been good, a return to form after the series became a forced spin-off from Ar Tonelico.
Story is complex enough I finally can't spoil myself by thinking about it, other than one obvious thing. Combat, while not as good as Ar Tonelico 2 combat (I might be bias, I really love that combat), it's better than AT3, which isn't that much a feat though.
Also running into issues with Earthes not being strong enough and I can't synthesis enough cathodes and TxBIOS to rectify that.

HOW!? One of the biggest common complaints with Ar nosurge (and the entire trilogy) is that it's too easy. How on earth have you somehow managed to be too weak in all 4 games?
Well, I think it has something to do with not being able to make enough Cathodes and TxBIOS to fill the equipment chart. And RNAs.
Kinda annoying.
Wait, am I supposed to be strong enough to wipe entire areas in one go?
Because I've just been doing that the whole game and when I couldn't do it anymore I just assumed I was too weak.
You don't have to. You just do that if you want to remove the not so random random encounters.
Star Ocean 4 was poo poo pancakes, so I suppose this one can only be better.. Right until I read that it takes place before Till The End of Time. Pass.
I enjoyed their Resonance of Fate game though.
I'm hopefully gonna try it at some point.. I've heard good things.
Picked up Katawa Shoujo again. Going the Misha/Shizune route.
Because I just love those two.
So I've been playing this DS game from a few years back called Sands of Destruction

It's been a lot of fun, the girl recruits the guy because she wants him to destroy the entire world, although he is kind of apathetic about it..
Oh. I know that game. Apparently it's pretty good but the battle system is kinda clunky and random encounters are a pain.
Every once and awhile I run into some encounter where the mobs do massive damage for some reason, that might be what they're referring to overall.
I mostly have enjoyed the fights and battle system though actually, it's kinda different from the norm since all the characters can heal and dps pretty well, plus you get an AE heal and AE damage spell right off the bat. I don't really understand why they gave two different base attacks when generally one is much better than the other at any given moment, but it's not really a problem or anything.
Anyway, we'll see how this goes overall I'm pretty optimistic at the moment...
Hm
Two New RPGs Headed to PSP (Yes, PSP) in North America and Europe Vita, PS TV, and PSP owners will all have access to two RPGs being localized for the first time.
http://www.gamespot....c/1100-6426888/
Ah yes I heard about this. Gaijinworks are trying to localize loads of PSP RPG's hopefully they can bring other a few other missing ones like Hack link, Shining blade Fate/extra CCC and Suikoden.
So, I'm downloading suikoden 2...I played the first one and it was amazing. Is the 2nd just as good?
The 2nd one is not only just as good but probably better as well as one of the greatest games of all time IMO.. possibly the greatest traditional JRPG of all time. I'd try to get all 108 stars to maximize enjoyment..
I think 3 is pretty insanely underrated also but er that's another topic I suppose.
Xenoblade!
Loving it so far, particularly the open world aspect. Seems like something you don't often see in JRPGs, at least in my experience, and its most refreshing.
Silly Nintendo sticking great big spoilers in the trailers... but otherwise it seems like a major plus for the New 3DS XL.
I still need to play Xenoblade. I also need to hurry up and get round to playing Xenosaga 3.
Ahh Suikoden talk.
Not enough of it these days. The second definitely sits as one of the best JRPGs I've ever played. Still surprised Sony hasn't tossed it on PSN considering how much actual physical copies go for these days... Well I shouldn't say that, I haven't actually logged into PSN in ages.
Suikoden 5 was wonderful as well for me and came very close to the same sorts of feelings 2 gave me.
For the record, Shadow Hearts (and by extension Koudelka even though it's more a strategy game in a way) is my favorite JRPG. The sequels aren't quite on the same level but still good. I'll refrain from mentioning the soundtrack though, just so I don't descend into asofhafhahfoah. ![]()
Okay I lied. Just one but well... This is the standard I hold all boss battle themes to so indulge me a sec. ![]()
Great soundtracks and great games tend go together. Shadow hearts is definitely a thing I need to play.
If you do go that route Liam, I apologize in advance for any rampant fangirling you have to put up with from me.
It's a game very dear to my heart so I could probably talk far too much about it given the chance.
I get like that with Ar tonelico all the time so it's fine if you do it to me with Shadow Hearts.
Great soundtracks are just sooooooooo awesome and can keep a game relevant for that much longer if the tracks are the kind I can listen to anywere
