Not that I know of, tho IF does have alot of references to Rin so more SN references is not too strange outside the "why does Iffy get TM references."

 

Maybe it's just because of who does her voice since Kana is most famous for Rin?

So like I mumbled about in the anime thread, I've been working on Rebirth 1 myself. :3 Just got to Laststation and did a chunk of the opening stuff so I suspect we'll be meeting up with Noire soon and thus Nep Nep can remeet her waifu.

 

The humor is definitely way more spot on than I was expecting. It's simple but the fact that so many people struggle with Neptune's name is something I find hilarious whenever the gag is brought back up (Compa's mumbling still being a favorite point so far). Kana voicing Iffy makes me squeal an awful lot as one can expect and I had to giggle since I've already talked with House about the fact that the cast has a lot of big names, so I find myself headtilting when a voice sounds familiar.

 

I'll more than likely get back to it today, provided the horrible sky orb doesn't make the day too hot and I have to shut my PC down. I'll keep you guys updated!

Glad your enjoying Nepu. I think you'll like Vert a lot. Though that's just a guess since most of Neptunia's female audience loves Vert.

I've been playing through rebirth 1 too. I don't usually play these games and i bought it like most jrpgs on steam games list as a joke. The combat i can manage but i just cringe so hard at the dialogue... However, i do like the the references everything makes to gaming.

@Liam: I'm mostly looking forward to meeting Blanc (a favorite of yours if I remember right, yes? :3) since the differing personalities between her human form and White Heart feel like it's going to cause me far too much enjoyment from what House has said.

 

I don't have a favorite character just yet, they all have quirks that I like though and it'd be unfair to call it on Iffy solely cause I'm too busy being happy face about Rin.

Well yeah you mostly play it for the jokes. The combat is fun though a few of the difficulty spikes (like that Noire one **** that Noire one) can be a pain.

I'm looking forward to meeting them all properly then! Will plan on working through 2 once I complete 1 of course, and that'll give time for 3 to come out and probably get some patches in.

 

Glad to hear it's not just me that notices these difficulty spikes. I've been trying to grind a bit but nothing too over the top just yet. Mostly trying to make sure I get all the Guild quests done and such, then scamper around the bonus dungeons I hope up.

Well after the Noire one it's nothing too extreme with only a few small ones. Rebirth 2 handles the balance better. Not so sure about Rebirth 3 since I still need to play it.

NISA translations on the PS3 games where horrid that added in soooo many meme jokes that where not even there in Japanese, borked relationships with characters and just added too many useless jokes. IFs translations for the remakes(not touching Noire's game as that translation is just as bad as the PS3 games) are just more faithful and generally better.

I hate NISA as a localizer. HATE! I will never forgive them for what they did for what they did to Ar tonelico. I may have a few Issues with IF's and Atlus can go **** themselves with the ridiculous prices but anyone is better than Nisa.
