What do you guys know about Fairy Fencer F? All I know is it's the Neptunia team and Yoshitaka Amano and Nobuo Uematsu are involved. Since I like the last two things but have not played a Neptunia game, should I maybe try it out?

It looks good to me. Not sure if it will be as good as neptunia though compile heart has always struggled with serious plots.

False. The female protag of SMT: If is canon and was given an official name, the male was unnamed and forgotten.
Also his backstory? The only thing canon about Yu's backstory is he lived in a big city and his parents work are the reason he's in Inaba, that's it. That's no diuffrent then human noble being a Cousland and being the youngest son ect.
Heck even the game gives you freedom on how he met Philemon.
Just because you can name some exceptions don't make it a rule, and I'm pretty sure the male protagonist's name is Kazuya. In most of the other games, the males are usually the canon one. They even explain why Yu doesn't speak too much which meta to the silent protagonist. His inner thoughts and everything in other media after Persona 4.

So, Valkyria Chronicles is really pretty great, I'd say give it a shot if any of you have not played it yet.

Valkyria Chronicles is excellent -- Got some of the most intriguing combat in a JRPG.

I played it. Pretty good but boy did I suck at the combat.

/looks up Valkyria Chronicles
//understands Kefka's unusual interest in having a pleasant character who wants to bake cookies for everyone
Sorry I don't have a PS3/P.
Everyone should play 999 though, best/only visual novel I've ever played, it's so great.

Um, Kazuya is the manga name for the protag for the first persona game, not If >.>
Also the fact that there is exceptions means there is no rule like you tried to claim. You tried to claim that only male protags are canon no matter what. This is false as Tamaki is canon and Maya Amano is part of the duo protag of Persona 2 along with Tatsuya.

Yeah, so did I. I got like a D rating on like 70% of the missions or something.

I got that for my cousin for xmas, based on all the reviews, but I never actually tried it myself.... maybe one day.
Um, so Tales of Symphonia has started off really good, but I'm not very far yet. It's interesting because it's had some really disturbing moments which seems odd for the clean and colorful front that the Tales games often have.

Oh indeed perhaps one day or another.
OH and I forgot to mention, Tales of Symphonia also had a character who baked cookies for people early on. In fact, later before a fight he gives you some of his fresh baked cookies to heal you up before the fight. It was pretty perfect.

Have any of you played Sakura Wars or any of it's descendants? It sounds insanely popular, but I can't say I'm familiar with any of them.

Steam Reviews can be hilarious sometimes - This one isn't really for a JRPG but funny nevertheless. It's RE4. The first one was one I discovered on Steam myself after buying the game, then I saw somebody has screened it on the net so I just shared that here.
