Jude seems kinda bland from the trailer anyway, so I guess that's not surprising, Yuri Lowell... on the other hand....
I just don't have a 360 though, so I feel like I might as well just go with Xillia for now.

Yuri is one of the few male JRPG protags that don't make me want to punch them in the face.
Eh? Jude can be really fun when comboing all your moves together. He and Leia have some pretty awesome ground-to-air and air-to-ground combinations, as does Milla. Examples can be found on Omegaevolution's channel, though the videos would be in Japanese. Actually, Milla, Rowan, Jude, Leia are all quite fun to play as IMO.
Favorite Tales games?
Well that's more of a ranking I guess... I like all of the tales games I have played bar Tales of Symphonia 2, which I mostly dislike because of how rigid it was compared to its predecessor.
**** Asbel. Pascal was one of the few good things about that game.
I hear a drinking game that gets people killed in Japan is taking a shot every time you hear 'mamoru'.
But yeah, Graces was all over the place. It didn't have the moral dilemma which is prevalent in all Tales Games, and the characters are mostly fairly bland. The Future arc redeemed it somewhat for me since it explained a bit more of the world, but once I got past that it was all just a mess. Then I played new game plus and OHKO'd the final-final boss. I lost respect.
I'm going Symphonia until Nier shows up I guess.
Symphonia continues to impress... nothing really ever works out the way it's supposed to, which is cool. I like how characters don't just run around all invincible and the heroes don't do the whole "but we can't kill them" thing all the time.
I also started another game that I think kind of qualifies as a JRPG, it was the lesser known part of the operation rainfall trio Pandora's Tower.

It plays kind of like an action RPG but since it has levels and equipment as well as ongoing character interactions and stories it sort of seems like a JRPG to me. It's not like a typical Tales game or anything though. It could be interesting to see how it goes. Nier still hasn't showed up yet so... hrm.. it's kind of grim and dark anyway, like a dating sim but with a doomsday curse where the girl is slowly being destroyed and transformed into a beast unless you save her.
So, I just beat Ar Tonelico(Good Aurica Ending).
I will write a review of it later, because right now if I try I'm just going to start foaming at the mouth and speaking Faura yerwe murfan anw sol ciel in tongues.
I've only played 2 - Phantasia, and Vesperia. I liked both, but I'd probably favor Vesperia. Phantasia had a slick combat system and some flashy special attacks. Strong art style for its time.Favorite Tales Games?
Well ar tonelico is my favorite franchise of all time so there's that. It also has the best soundtrack in all of gaming imo.
I know I can get in trouble for saying this but I suggest pirating it. AT1 and 2 are the best games but they are near impossible to get any other way. Or you could watch it on youtube.
Having a blast with Xillia -- Combat is much more fun than Vesperia and the characters are solid and the story is so far ranges around the same heights as Vesperia's which is fine with me. I'm having fun with the game.
I'm glad you're enjoying it. Which path are you on Milla or Jude's?
Doing Jude's story since I imagine he'll get the most story representation, but also because I'm enjoying his combat mechanics. I'll do Milla's next.
Right now I'm inside the Old Vicalle Mine, grinding the crap out of my party so that I may beat the Devil Beast that roams that same cave. I managed to get him a bit down but it wasn't enough so I need some more. But I've learned my first Mystic Arte now and one Arcane arte, so I'm about rock it up in this ******.
I actually forgot to change my Artes for most of the game.......
Yay, just have one more character path in Devil Survivor Overclocked(and it's two sub paths) then I just need to fight the ultimate boss. One of the best enhanced ports II have played.
I really need to play that.
Already got Xillia 2 ready to go, whenenver I'm done with Xillia 1 but I imagine I'll do Milla's Story first before moving on to the sequel.
Ali Hillis' character wears one stupid looking outfit in this game, so you know, the more things change the more they stay the same.
I'm currently playing through Xillia 2, and it's really good. I guess most people don't enjoy Graces, but it's my fave one. I enjoy the relationship between Asbel and Sophie, especially during the future arc. Pascal kicks butt too lol,
Phew, one beast down, a few more to go.
