I've been wondering, will our PC have passive bonuses (stats and such) according to race like in DA:O, I did kinda enjoy the concept.
Will starting status/passives be affected by race?

I'm sure I saw that racial bonuses will be back (and be more substantial) but I can't remember where I saw that, or if I'm making it up.
But I agree that racial bonuses would be great.

I remembering seeing that the racial traits were back too. I just don't think they have published what they are yet.

I could see the qunari having higher strength than others and maybe the elves get dexterity, dwarves constitution, humans can have willpower or something idk.
the only race that makes since to have any higher resistances is dwarves.

I'd like them to bring back the DA:O stat differences (which was +2 willpower and magic for elves btw) and give the Qunari a similar strength and constitution bonus. Racial abilities would be good too, but even if nobody else gets racial bonuses, the dwarves need very high magic resistance to remain consistent with the lore.

I wrote this before somewhere, but I don't mind writing it again. It'd be cool if in addition to "racial traits/abilities" we also got attribute modifiers just for being a particular race. It could go as follows;
Humans: +2 strength, +2 dexterity, +2 magic, +2 willpower, +2 constitution
Elves: +3 dexterity, +5 magic, +4 willpower
Dwarves: +4 strength, +3 willpower, +5 constitution
Qunari: +5 strength, +3 willpower, +4 constitution
In addition to that we could also bring back class attribute bonuses;
Warriors: +3 strength, +2 constitution, +1 willpower
Rogues: +3 dexterity, +2 cunning, +1 willpower
Mages: +3 magic, +2 willpower, +1 cunning

Humans only get 6 bonus points? Is that a typo? Everyone else has 12...

I believe they said dwarves will have even bigger magic resistance this time, so there's at least that one returning.

Yah my mistake I meant to give them +2 to everything except cunning. 2 less points than everyone else, but more attributes are affected.

i think they were gona do something like a "personal passive" for party members. similar to the passive for friendship/rival passives from da2.

I remember someone (Gaider maybe) who said that racial benefits were returning, and would be more significant. Like he said that dwarven magic resistance wouldn't be a mere 10% chance to not take spell damage, the % would be a lot higher.
Problem though... I've completely lost my source on this. Maybe someone else still has it.

We do. Don't you know it? We are born with +5 Int and a "nerdrage" passive ability as a hightech resistance bonus which also *1.5 our damage against robotsI think so. I personally think Asians should have high intel bonus.
...
It was a joke guys, kay? I'm bored

It would be nice if the different races have different bonuses. And they don't have to be always equal. For example elves can have a little better magic stat while humans have no bonus(or stats one anyway) because humans will have so much easier time existing (for lack of better word) in Thedas.

Fail. Humans should get no gameplay bonuses because they have lore-based privilege? Nonsense. It wouldn't even make sense. After all, with your idea humans would have no higher base strength or constitutions than elves even though humans are clearly stronger built and significantly larger framed.

Haha Fail? Fail is me giving you a like. Fail is pressing the damn touch-pad on my laptop and thus writing this post few times. But my suggestion is certainly not 'Fail'. You seem to ignoring one simple thing here - this is a game. There have to be some kind of balance. And frankly giving some small bonuses to one race while giving another type of advantage to another seems fair to me. You are right about humans being physically stronger and toughter than elves (which is one of the reasons why the elves live the way they do) and maybe human PCs should have 1 or 2 (1 imo) to str and endurance, but I think their other advantages more than make for the worse stats at the begining.

No, it is a fail. Period. You want playing as a human to be the objectively worst class in every way by having giving humans absolutely no gameplay benefits for any class. It will mean that a human will be the worst example for all 3 classes in the game and will have no saving graces whatsoever for any build type. I don't even need to argue you point by point when you're making suggestions that terrible.

/sigh
You either refuse or just can't grasp my idea. I am sure it's the first one since it is not something difficult or anything. And really? For you these first few points will make or brake a class? It really wouldn't matter(except if the dwarf have high magic resistance) by the mid game or even earlier. What I wouldn't mind seeing is our human noble to start the game with 10 gold and all of other with 4 or something. Maybe have easier time convincing people to trust him/her or get more/easier quests or something.

Static attribute bonuses are effectively useless when leveling gives you 3 per level (unless that changes in DAI but I don't think we have info about this).
Dwarves can have extra Magic resistance, Constitution multiplier or and bonus in crafting.
Dalish can have extra willpower multiplier, extra survival abilities? Like some health regen threshold out of combat or some first aid ability?
Humans can have an extra talent or extra urban skills like persuasion or better prices. Not sure how skills work in inquisition.
Qunari can have stun/poison resistances, extra strength or perhaps an ability that increases their damage for a while?

I certainly hope so.
Sometimes devs prioritize balance before fun (like no racial skills or racial specific starting attributes).
But racial skills and racial specific starting attributes makes logical sense, increases immersion and makes the game a whole lot more interesting.
