This is not a discussion on which of the two is better.(I think unvoiced is best though) Which we have had numerous threads on. But rather a suggestion (since this is the feedback and suggestion thread) to bioware, to include the option to have an unvoiced protagonist.

DAI will have a voiced protagonist, these are the issues I have with it:

- I like to play as myself, that becomes less fun there is some other guys voice coming from "me".

- Often the line spoken is too unpredictable through the paraphrase provided.

- Since I play as myself I desire complete control over what Im going to say.

- When a certain line is not voiced you can intend the line to mean different things, however, when a line is spoken what you intend does not matter, because the voice actor has intented the line to mean something specific.( Which isnt bad voice acting, its just the nature of voice acting) And what the voice actor intended is always very evident.

- Voiced PC removes roleplaying control from the player, by having the voice actor interpreting dialogue delivery "their" way.

I think its great that people who want a voiced actor can have that, but I dont think its fair that those that want an unvoiced character gets left behind.

Here is why Bioware should implement the option to have an unvoiced main character:

- In the past on the bioware forums we have had polls regarding what people want.(voiced/unvoiced), those polls seemed to have roughly a 50/50 split. (there were many of them)

Im no expert on scripts, but it seems to me that adding two scripts that said:( 1. remove main character voice and talk animation 2. Show full text of dialogue options.)... would take too much work. Maybe a week? I dont know. ( that seems a bit too much though)

Here is a quote by one of the devs. (David Gaider).(from a discussion on dialogue systems): We must also consider whether the work involved is worth doing. Are there a lot of people who want such an option? Is this an option they actually want, or is this something being requested because they really want something else we won't offer, and consider this a halfway measure even if it doesn't actually satisfy them?

It seems to me that if you have the option to please 50 percent of the fan base by having 2 programmers work on this for a few days.( again, im no expert on scripting) Then that would be worth doing. And yes, there are a lot of people who want such an option. And yes again, this is an option we actually want.

In the past games with a voiced MC It has felt like a chore sometimes(with endless reloads because a line was delivered different from what was expected), Bioware, I reaaallyyy dont want to sit through that again. I really want to like this game,I want it to surpass origins and it would be a shame if the lack of a unvoiced option diminshied the experience for 50 percent of the fan base.

This option needs to be there if it is going to surpass origins, dialogue and roleplaying is afterall a core feature in this game.

Just to clarify:

- If this means another week delay, I still want this feature.

- If getting this feature means through a DLC, then yes I still want it.

- If I have to pay 10 dollars the DLC, then yes I still want it.

- Im aware that you write lines differently, (and coreograph scenes differently), but i still wont an unvoiced option, because its not about how it looks, its about roleplaying, and this is a roleplaying game.

- Marketing tells us this our story, and we can play our way. 50 percent of us cant. On/In this matter anyway..

To finish up I would like to add that I agree with a lot of the stuff your doing with this game.

- Bigger areas.

- More responsive and "navigatable" combat( although I think it should be less flashy)

- It also appaears that you have actually taken some of my (and others) advice. The bigger areas, no sidetracking areas for sidequests and so on...

I am not a native English speaker. And I seem to be having something of a brain fog today...( justifying grammar mistakes)

I may update this post if i think of something more to add.

Everyone who post.. Be respectful of each other.

Again, I really want to like this game Bioware. Dont force me to sit through the forced voiced MC again... Its a huge damper on the experience. (For those who like to play unvoiced).
