Props for helping to make the Mass Effect series, but that damn ending left a sour taste.

Gotta wonder what's gonna happen to next Mass Effect.

Wow, this means almost all of the old-Bioware folks are pretty much gone...

Drew, the Doctors, other devs and now Hudson...

Hope Hudson grabs some red, green and blue cupcakes before he leaves... :P

Add this to the fact that Bioware is now in charge of ME 4, DA:I, SWTOR and two new IPs.

Problematic future indeed...

Thank you for giving me the best gaming experience of my life, Casey. Mass Effect touched my heart like no other. May your Bioware magic lead you on whatever journey awaits your craft. Farewell, Casey Hudson.

I wish him the best.

Did he make some mistakes? Yes, but if it wasn´t for him probably there wouldn´t even be an amazing trilogy such as Mass Effect to make mistakes on.

So, good luck for him , and i wish that everyone that stays "behind" continue to create amazing games/stories  ;)

The end of an era. In my mind, nostalgia for the "era Mass Effect" mixes with what I felt about the ending of ME3. And I'm hearing the ME3 ending theme. Casey Hudson and his team gave us all interesting times, in both the good and the bad ways. Goodbye and good luck!

Mass Effect had many flaws, not only the ending.. but the ME idea was very great and i'm glad I played such game like this one, despite the flaws.

Good luck to him.

Don't really know what to say.  You never get the true story...or it never comes out till later.  Of course I wish him all of the best.  Being that successful and leaving is just....off, but as long as hes happy now thats good.  If he was butting heads hopefully he finds a better spot later and I would hope it also doesn't involve EA and all their bullshit.  Enjoy the time off and come back in full force if thats what you wish though.  Thanks for the great games.

I wish him the best!

He spearheaded Mass Effect, my all time favorite Game Series from the moment I first heard about it back in 2006 till the moment that Reaper Beam hit Shepard.

Of course everything after that, most of which has been attributed to him and Mac Walters, made the series unplayable for me.

Over two years later and I still haven't touched it nor can I think about it without cringing.

Good Luck Mr. Hudson! I'm sure you'll have much success in your future endeavors!

Just try not to drive them off a cliff next time. <3

This actually depresses me. I have so much respect for Hudson and his team. I hope he returns to game development some day.

And to others please use some restraint when posting.  If you didn't like something that is fine but that does not give anyone the right to belittle a person or the work, especially when you focus on five minutes of game time (whether or not the person was even involved) and ignore pretty much everything else the person did.

Spoiler

Anyways, best of luck to him.

Best of luck to him indeed.  Despite all of the goods and the bads about the ME trilogy, it was a hell of a ride overall, and I've enjoyed many a BioWare game.

Well, that's about all that was left of the old guard....

Future of Bioware: problematic

David Gaider, et all, will be sad to hear that  ;)

At any rate, my views on Mass Effect are probably well known.  But I have to respect Mr Hudson for KOTOR.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time playing playing ME2 and ME3 and would put them both in my personal favorite top 10 list. KotOR was great as was BG2 (not sure if he was involved with that or not). So thanks Casey for helping to bring us many, many hours of great entertainment. All the best.

While it is sad to see him go. I always prefer change vs the same stuff.

Who is to say this is good or bad? Only time and the quality of products will determine that.

Also, I have been reading some of the comments on other sites...darn. That vocal minority is still pretty vocal.

Also also, I wonder if the rachni will have a huge impact on ME4, even just in the ending...

I had the feeling he already left Mass Effect for the new IP, so it probably won't change too much about the new Mass Effect game

*sigh*

Isn't it an Austin a Montreal project? I thought he was on the new IP and not ME anyway. I wouldn't worry about BioWare Edmonton regardless. That's still the house the doctors built, and it'll take some time to tear it apart.

//EDIT: I totally didn't get that wrong or anything.

I thought Yanick Roy took over since the game is being developped in Montréal, but I guess that's another title he has.
