I may have not loved the ending to ME3, but I do not begrudge an individual for it lol. Bioware is my favorite and I know Casey is/was a huge part of Bioware so I'll be sad to see him go. I wish him the best of luck and will be keen on seeing whatever else he gets involved in!

Shame to see him go, he played such a large part in bringing about one of the best Scifi action RPG series of past decade. Could tell he had a lot of love of the franchise and devotion to it through the years and I hope to see him help create more games in the future providing he does not completely leave the industry like so many good developers have done of late.

As someone who loved Mass Effect 1 & 2 but really didn't like a lot of aspects of 3 I don't know how to feel about this. I wish the best for him as a person, but I'm not sure whether this will be a good thing or a bad thing with regards to the next Mass Effect game.

Of course everybody is nice here, the ones who post harsh comments get censured.
Not nearly as much as they should.

One has to hope that this is one of these things where he truly decided to explore new venues and was not due to a major change in direction for the franchise he did not approve of.
Like ME4 being a sequel?

He certainly did lots of good (with the help of some other people I guess) in Kotor and Mass effect Trilogy. I hope he stays in the game development business, and I am looking forward to his next game, whatever it might be.

Helped bring us some great games. I wish him well in future endeavours. I hope who ever takes over his post brings some fresh ideas and more focus direction to projects so the problems of ME3 can be avoided in the future. A great but fundamentally flawed games that needed at least another year in development to be all it could be.

Well, let me just say that i really loved this man. He created one of my favorite game series that I've had the privilege of playing in a very long time. I'm seeing a lot of people(mostly on other sites, take a guess which.) bash the living hell out of this guy and saying crap like "hopefully mass effect will be good now" etc. Really? Do these same people not realize that without this man they wouldn't even have Mass Effect to begin with? Yes I'm in the "the ending of ME3 sucked" group but the games were still great. The ending was a mistake, but the way people have turned on him is ridiculous. A few years ago this guy was loved by pretty much everyone. Then all of a sudden people act like he's practically the devil. People are so stupid sometimes.

While I didnt like ME3 as a whole I still wish Mr. Hudson the best of luck in all his endeavours.
Really hope that he comes back to gaming because the industry needs someone like him to put out good quality games. IMO ME3 was nothing but a hiccup on his great career at Bioware.
My dislike for ME3 is my OPINION so please no nerd rage from people who love the game. Again..........its my OPINION and nothing more.

What are you like five years old? Grow up. He played a large part in bringing us many great games no matter what you thought of a single decision or even few decisions that you might not have liked in one or some of the games. Kotor and Mass Effect franchises both benefited far more from his input and hard work than had he not been part of them.

Without Casey, there wouldn't have BEEN a Mass Effect.
(Go read Geoff Keighley's Final Hours of Mass Effect 3 - he goes into the entire creation process for the Mass Effect series way back when they were designing the first game, and Casey was central to it.)
Final Hours of ME3 is free on iOS at the moment, btw. It's a fascinating read into the development history of Mass Effect.

I'll always be a Mass Effect fan. And, yes, I was one of the many fans that didn’t really enjoy the ending of the final chapter. It took me about a year to accept the game for what it is and reinvest myself back in the trilogy. But here’s the thing: there are many, many video games out there, but the Mass Effect series is the one I keep coming back to, over and over.
Casey Hudson is the main responsible for the creation of this magical sci-fi universe. He and his colleagues at BioWare have created a textured world populated by iconic and unforgettable characters we’ve fallen in love with and keep celebrating on the internet, in personal gaming blogs, in fan art and fan fiction, year after year. That must mean something.
It’s with great sadness that I’ve seen the news today regarding Casey’s departure from BioWare. I find myself remembering his passion for the project, so well expressed in the memorable demo footage shown at E3 in 2006.
I also remember that, in my perception of things, that passion, that enthusiasm, is something that I haven’t seen in his eyes since the launch of Mass Effect 3. I know this is only my speculation, and one can only imagine how it all must have been hard to process on a personal level, no matter how valid or exaggerated some of that criticism might have been.
But the bottom line is that all that amazing potential that lies in the Mass Effect Universe is there because this man and his friends had a vision, and we all fell in love with it. So I say: thank you Casey Hudson. I hope you find that passion once again in your life, and renewed inspiration for amazing projects and new ideas.
And I do hope that, sometime in the future, your path may once again cross the path of Mass Effect and maybe, who knows, of Commander Shepard, stepping once again into the Normandy for a new adventure!
Keelah se’lai.
