I just watched the Comic Con panel and one of the many questions the people in the room didn't ask, but that might would've gotten an answer: it sounds like the game is going to be more open world/sandbox, with the Mako and who exploration idea.

Did they already say anything about this?

Not specifically. But it'd be nice if it were more "open". That'd go a long way in offsetting all the corridors we've been running down these past few installments.

Well, Mass Effect was the most open game in the trilogy and was also the worst. With that said, planets are coming back, so there is obvious that. As for the level themselves, ME3 took a good step in making them more elaborated than ME2's. So all they have to to do is keep that evolution going.

Combat gameplay wasn't really at its peak. And I wouldn't call driving around in a small rectangular map "open" but it did well in suggesting there was worlds to be explored.

Beside that and seeing that the new DA shall be more open, I NEVER took into question the next ME would NOT be an open world game.

If they can make the game more like ME1 with more exploration and good combat and more rpg quests so we can get more involved it would be great.

I liked the quirky combat. It was challenging, with a lot of personality. It was unique.

I didn't mind it at its time, but I wouldn't go back now. I still would play the game, though.

It sounds like frostbite lends itself to bigger levels so that is probably what we will get.
