So we've all seen the trailer footage where the gray wardens are attacked and by the looks of it I'm guessing at some point we'll be given a choice of either attacking or not attacking, Unless were force to of course.

Anyway my question is in your first play through will you or won't you attack???

Personally I won't if given a choice of course, Saying that though I will eventually attack. Maybe after a couple of play through s. But for my first play through if given a choice I won't. But that's just me you may feel differently but after DA:O I don't think I could bring myself to attack those gray dudes and dudettes as they are awesome  :)

It would depend entirely on the circumstances. I wouldn't say I'm going to strive to go out and attack them as I'd rather have them on the Inquisition's side, but yeah. If it's necessary, sure.

It would depend on what reasons the Wardens gave me for attacking.

If they opened the Breach because one of their number got it into their idiot heads that doing so would stop the next Blight and they're willing to do anything to get the job done... yeah, I'll crush the whole org. if need be.

Well, do we have a reason to attack them beyond "hey, its an option now"? If they are opposing the Inquisition some of my less than negotiable Inquisitors will have something to say about that, otherwise I would work with them if they can benefit the cause or just avoid them altogether.

Yes. Not sure if it will be in my first playthrough.

If its in the game, I will do it. The more I can do in the game the more replay value the game has for me.

Only if they give me a reason to.

Depends on the reasons they give me. Though if I have to attack I will not go easy on them, they don't hold a special place in my heart and I don't think they're as import as they think.

They're probably under Corypheus' control so I won't have to pause and think about it. If not, we'll see.

Entirely depends on what the game provides as possible motivation for such an act.

I would also hope that Grey Warden badassery isn't understated that say attacking/storming a Grey Warden fortress would require a massive force and bloody your Inquisitions military power enough to possibly trade-off for a future event in the game, where such forces who wouldn't be dead due to the attack would open up other gameplay possibilities.

What can I say, I've grown fond of the Grey Wardens.

Since I will no longer be playing the role of a Grey Warden (some people have great difficulty letting go of this), I will attack them if they get in the way of what I am trying to achieve.

All for the greater good, of course.

I honestly can't say without knowing what role they are taking in the current situation.    Organizations change and organizations aren't always as 'noble' of spirit as the individuals you find within.

Even in Awakenings, you start to get the feeling that the Warden leadership is 'up to something'.    The whole idea of Wardens in charge of a political entity(Amaranthine) was supposed to be against the Warden system of neutrality.   So clearly, even then they were 'choosing sides'.

My guess is the Wardens we encounter in DA:I will not resemble the likes of Duncan and those noble souls we met in DA:O.    I will make my judgements based on what I am seeing with my new character, and not what I personally experienced as a Warden in DA:O.

if it involves a trophy/achievement, most likely.

For me it all depends on the reason behind attacking the Grey Wardens, but in general I side with the Grey Wardens so I would rather recruit them to my side than fight them.

Hard to say right now because it's depend on the circumstances and the reason given to the player. I'm not thrilled about the attack the grey warden's idea either, and I'd rather have them ally with the Inquisition as a matter of a fact I prefer diplomacy or any solution that will keep bloodshed at the minimum even though they were under Corypheus' control. I still want to free most of them, and avoid unnecessary wardens death even if it mean risking the mission unless the grey warden are up to no good then I'll be forced to put them down.

I'll vote "NO" here unless they up to no good.

A choice implies alternatives. Alternatives imply opportunity costs, gains, and of course the vital context to determine which is which.

What are the consequences of not attacking the Wardens?

I've noticed that a lot of people tend to place the Wardens on a pedastal. Is it because we played one in Origins.

I don't think every Warden is as heroic as in the tales. Won't the new novel deal with the darker secrets of the Grey Wardens?

Anyway, I'll attack them if there's reason to do so.

None of the characters in DAI would be around if not for Wardens. Archie D would have had them for breakfast a long time ago.

Hm...

to quote Obi-Wan Kenobi:

Only a sith deals in absolutes!

Meaning:

I will decide that after I have more information - there has to be a good reason to attack them (I will decide if it is good enough - after reviewing all the pertinent information)...maybe they have been doing something really bad? (Like keeping Corrypheus (spelling?) locked up - but alive, instead of interrogating and then killing him)

greetings LAX

They aren't off-limits, but I'd need a good reason first.
