Yes they are evil.

But kidding aside only if they are taking part in the chaos and need to be brought in line

It would depend on what reasons the Wardens gave me for attacking.

If they opened the Breach because one of their number got it into their idiot heads that doing so would stop the next Blight and they're willing to do anything to get the job done... yeah, I'll crush the whole org. if need be.

I probably wouldn't go after the whole organization, but would definitely come down hard on the offending branch of Wardens if that were the case.

As pretty much everyone has already said, I wouldn't attack without a good damned reason. Hopefully if there is a major conflict with the Wardens this is where diplomacy will hopefully come into play before you have to go lay siege to Weisshaupt.

So we've all seen the trailer footage where the gray wardens are attacked and by the looks of it I'm guessing at some point we'll be given a choice of either attacking or not attacking, Unless were force to of course.

Which trailer would this be?

Depends, I would attack if it's needed. If the Wardens have been corrupted, would gladly attack to help restore the order.

Both the Fires Above and Lead Them or Fall trailers appear to show Grey Wardens under attack by Inquisition forces.

Considering that Wardens are the best fighters in Thedas i would rather not :)

But given the right reason and the right numbers ;)

Attacking the Wardens didn't work out so great for Loghain so probably not.

Btw, it's Grey Warden.

And to answer your question: I'm not really planning my first playthrough. I'll just do what feels right.

If there is a good reason and depending on the character, yes.

It would require some pretty exceptional circumstances (corruption by Corypheus, for example) before I would even consider such a thing.

Yes very quickly and very easily.  The problem with the Wardens is that they are only really concerned with the blight. That has been drummed into them for hundreds of years.  The whole world (in the words of Varric) can be raining demons and they could give a shi*.  As the inquisitor I'd very easily attack them if they stood in the way of me doing my job, just as they would attack me if I was standing in the way of ending a blight.

I love the Grey Wardens, so if given the choice I will choose to side with them...unless they are evil because they're brainwashed by Corypheus, of course.

Only if the reason is good enough. Given how vital they are when it comes to dealing with Darkspawn and a Blight, they're a long term asset that the world needs. Especially given how hard it is for them to replenish their numbers.

Attacking the Wardens didn't work out so great for Loghain so probably not.

Probably because he didn't attack them.
He left them to be slaughtered by superior numbers of Darkspawn, then arranged for traps/ambushes for any stragglers. The only one who caused him any trouble was us.

I don't see why anyone should care about the GWs. Every proper GW we was either incompetent or suicidal. The closest we got to competence was Alistiar, and that's setting the bar a special kind of low.

I don't have particularly strong feelings about the Grey Wardens as an organization, so sure, if circumstances demanded it. Even though we played a Warden in the first game, I don't think we know everything about them and their doings.

I would feel bad if I had to fight individual Wardens I've grown fond of, however.

Depends on the type of character I am playing and the actions of the Grey Wardens. If it is a choice it'll definitely happen on at least one of my playthroughs.

Despite that I despise the wardens, I would not attack them if given a choice. But if fighting them is shown to be the best course of action in the game? Gladly. I certanly don't feel bad about fighting these two faced selfish jerks.

If they're faceless Wardens whom we've never been introduced to, then I'll certainly consider the circumstances. If it's the Warden, Loghain, Nate, Carver, or any of the other Wardens I've (me not the Inquisitor) been introduced to then it depends on how badass I think the Inquisitor is as well as the circumstances. The Hero of Ferelden is untouchable as far as I'm concerned because regardless of game mechanics the Inquisitor would lose to him every time. The others I'll have more lee way in my considerations.

I freely admit to being uncomfortable with various inferences that the Wardens may be up to something unsavory in the grand scheme, and that is even after knowing that they've long accepted blood mages into their ranks, or forcibly conscripted members, or in the case of Sophia Dryden (launched a rebellion against a sitting monarch).

No matter what agenda the organization may be up to, or despite the occasional aberrant individual Warden, our entry into this whole franchise CLEARLY gave us the impression that the Grey Wardens were heroes of old, due honor & status based upon their sacrifice to monitor and face the darkspawn and end the blights.

I hope that if we are put in a situation that requires the Inquisition to consider taking up arms against the Wardens, that it proves to be a compelling NEED to do so that doesn't end up making the Wardens look like they were an evil "front" all along. That to me would be game breaking, and as much as I've played these games over and again, I'm not sure if I would want to continue with it?

In at least one of my playthroughs, yes. Will I personally think it's the right thing to do? Depends on the circumstances.

Perhaps they gave us these impressions so that subverting our expectations of the Grey Wardens would be more meaningful.

"It's a twist!"
