Can the retail CE extras be activated on Steam version?

Steam is my preferred platform for buying PC games.  However, I really liked the art book for the original Mass Effect, and I don't want to look at it on a screen, so I decided to pre-order the retail disc-version Collector's Edition so I could get the physical art book.  I pre-ordered it at GameStop so conveniently that means I'll get their pre-order armor and gun as well.

I would still like to have the game on Steam though, and I'd also kind of like the other pre-order armor.  Since I'm fairly financially comfortable, I have no qualms about buying the game again on Steam - however I still don't want to buy more than I "need" to.

If I can activate the CE version in-game extras on the Steam version of the game, then I won't bother buying the Digital Deluxe edition (since I'm presuming the in-game extras are the same).  Which brings me to my question:  Will I be able to buy the normal version on Steam and then activate the extra in game items from the retail CE version on my Steam install of the game?  Or are the extras part of the CE install itself and not spearable?  E.g. if possible, I don't ever want to install the disc version of the game. I just want to install the Steam version and then activate everything on that one copy.

Well since you activate the bonuses for your account and the game then downloads them i would guess so, steam or not it's the same game

OK I just didn't know if the extras were separate activations or if they're just part of the CE install.
