The game being on PS3/360 hurts us gamers who early adopt technology. It goes both ways. We're not getting the absolute best experience we can get either because they're handicapped by the lowest common denominator in the bunch. I'm willing to bet a lot of the technical limitations in DAI are largely because the engine had to be coded with PS3/360 limitations in mind.

You know who doesn't do this? Crytek. Look at the wonders it's done for their business over the last decade or so. They're taking it all the way to the bank(ruptcy).

Jesus this thread title is like a Fox News article. Let's just jump to some wildly unfounded conclusion.

This might be one of those threads to which the only appropriate response is: lolwut? More seriously, I think that before starting a topic like this, maybe the OP should have chilled out and applied some logic and/or common sense after reading whatever stories/articles he read that prompted this thread.

While they might drop the level of detail down in some respects for the console versions - like possibly yanking a few NON-interactive NPCs if the console(s) in question can't handle showing huge crowds without killing your framerates - it's not as if they'll be removing important interactive NPCs or taking out so much detail that the game world will look like some kind of lifeless wasteland. The thread title is just a bit hyperbolic, don't you think?

I've seen comparisons between some current-gen games and their next-gen/PC versions, and honestly, while the next-gen/PC stuff might have extra details and visual fidelity, it's not like the current-gen versions of the games make you feel like you're all alone and stuck in the middle of the Sahara Desert.

If you can't afford the latest technology, you can't afford the best gaming experience. At least you can still play it on last gen at all!  :)

*Looks at Arkham Knight*

Yup.

As long as they give you the best game they can within your hardware limitations I do not see why you would complain. Unless your annoyed that someone paid more for a higher specification system or is buying it for a higher specification system in which case that falls under jealousy but it is a position you are responsible for not Bioware.

If however they do not create the game to the best it can be within your hardware limitations then you might have a point and a case worth fighting for but at this stage you do not have proof that is currently the situation. The 360 and PS3 owners should ideally in my opinion get the best game that their hardware can handle, the same applies for PC and Xbox One or PS4.

The bad way of doing things would be to reduce the quality of the other platforms when they are higher specification and I am glad fewer studios are doing things that way these days but generally the only main difference is texture quality, particle effects, view distance, resolution and background content that you would not tend to interact with in the first place. I have seen no evidence your losing out on gameplay features or in-game interactive content just because you might play on the 360 as opposed to a Xbox One for example.

Nop, i hate dealing with overheating and repaste the cpu and gpu.

If you lower the game's performance a bit you shouldn't overheat, and you'll still be doing better than an XBox. Only time I ever had a heat problem was when I didn't think to stop my cat from curling up next to my PC. Getting your intakes clogged with cat fur is not a good idea.

Speaking as a console peasant, it seems pretty clear to me that most PC advocates in here are being tongue-in-cheek.

Of course we are!  We have nothing but sympathy for our less fortunate brethren, and wish you all the best your crippled hardware can produce.  It's just that we get such a sense of schadenfreude when we observe console gamers arguing about which one is "better", or whether a game is playable on the previous generation.   ;)

PC gamers know that to have the best experience means a constant series of upgrades.  Console games only feel that pain once every decade-or-so.  That's  why we relish watching you guys thrash about over this.  'Cuz ya' just don't get it!  B)

So we really are gonna stoop this low? Sad, I though BSN had mostly mature adults but I guess we also have fanboying 12 year olds as well.

Ya' gotta read the thread in its entirety, or you miss the subtle humour and insider jabs.  Taking this sort of post out-of-context does, indeed, drain all the funny.  (But what's funnier is that the post was a reply to the very same question you asked!)

The PC Gamers and the Console Gamers are two camps.  And like any two camps, we have to poke fun at the other one.  Else we might, you know, become  them.  And we can't let that  happen!

I played DA:O on the 360. It was fun. I'm playing DA:O on my computer that I got cheap recently and it's harder on the same level cause they added  more mages to the fights. Fire ball throwing blood mages early in the game. So while the game looks better, gaming gods have to work harder for the same level of play.

We all have to do the upgrade at some point if we want to keep playing new games as they come out.  It's just the reality of being a gamer.  It's nothing new it has always been like that.  The 360 and PS3 had a good long run and it nearly lasted a decade.  This game is the game that will prompt me to make that eventual upgrade  (would eventually have to anyway but DAI effected the when for me).  You get what you pay for and if you want DAI to be the best experience you can make it than you will make the upgrade.  Just be glad they are still making a 360 and PS 3 version if you can't afford the new console yet, just don't expect it to be as good as the version that will be on the newer more powerful hardware.

It's not that we don't get it, but there's a plethora of reasons why some people prefer console over PC. Superiority in graphics has little to do with it.

Btw, my earlier post was deleted, so allow me to re-post my reaction to the whole "master race" talk :P

It sort of goes without saying that he worded himself poorly, and I was semi-joking about said fact in the first sentence of my previous post. Vis-a-vis the rest of my previous post, I clearly understood what the OP meant. I maintain that the OP is being a bit silly about the whole thing, as - at worst - cities and villages might contain somewhat fewer residents.

It's also good to know various post histories. Like when a specific person is rather good at creating threads where he seems deeply upset over BioWare screwing him over based on a rumor he's heard, or an unsourced article.

XBox 350 and PS 3 users aren't getting 'the shaft.' They're getting the best game BioWare can manage on their system. This thread is silly, so people are responding in a silly manner.

Iam sorry u cant afford a current-gen console.  I bought PS4 earlier this year only because I came into some unexpected extra money, otherwise I probably still wouldnt have a PS4.  But having one I expect a good current-gen gameplay experiance unlike my PS3.  I didnt buy a PS4 just to have its games still play the same as they did on PS3.  There will be differences to be sure but it doesnt make sense for current-gen consoles to fully cater to previous consoles.  You will just have to get over it pal.

360 and ps3 versions won't have as high a res textures, as many background npcs or graphic quality as Xbone, ps4 and pc....

This thread is silly. Of course it's not going to be as good, but it's not like they're cutting out entire sections of content lol.

I think the OP needs to pony up and buy a next gen console. One of the reasons this gen is so slow in getting off the ground is that devs are still catering to last gen, eight yrs old now. Bioware shouldn't have even bothered with last gen.

I'm actually curious how they will pull out the PS4/X1 versions, since is their first try on the current gen. At least they know really well the PS3/360 archtectures.

Basically, what I remember hearing... Is that the ps3/xbox360 versions will have less scope... Or something like that. It's almost like the areas will be smaller or less complex... Something like that, I think. I don't know just how noticeable it will be, but if you're really concerned with scope and graphics, among other minor details... Then perhaps you could start saving? I don't know, really.

It's just wasteful to pay a lot of money for a console that will drop,a lot in price, in a year or two. I waited 5 years to get a ps3 and I'll do the same for PS4.

Lol, wow. It's not going to drop that much in price at all. The funbox is still expensive given the outdated hardware it has. No wonder the console industry is said to hold everything back...

People need to invest if they want to see more innovation and better tech.

I refuse to  go PC, cause of CONSTANT UPGRADES, being Ram, Motherboards, Windows, to a new Video Card which most of those are high as a Console now being 300 to 400 a pop being Brand versions such as Nvidia to other Brands.

A console is better cause I can update via PSN or XBL, which can Update System Stability, to other details from Performance to PS Firmware Updates.

Unlike a PC which you have to BUY EVERYTHING, The only reason PC is Superior is cause you have to buy a New Video Card.

Sorry my bad Mis-Caculated 3 Months or So on Inquisition, Still 4 Years I waited on this game, I just hope it lives up to the long wait.

But based on what I seen, read I cant wait for Inquisition, People complaining on certain issues such as Leliana being Tortured & things being Odd. Easy that isn't the COMPLETE VERSION.

Also this is the 3rd Act meaning things will not be Hugs & Sunshine, I suspect Lots of Big time Deaths in Inquisition being Morrigan Especially.

The VA in Inquisition is Superb, so is the Background Musical Score, Say what you will about Bioware they always write & make a Wonderful World of amazing Stories & Characters.

So far my favs are Sera & The Iron Bull & also Viviene & Cassandra, love the Dynamics between Bull & Sera FUNNY STUFF.

Combat is Improved, Magic, cant wait to see if Bioware finally adds in LONG HAIR. don't know if they confirmed it yet.

PS3-360 version should be just fine but I am tired of comparing it to PS4 version cant do that anyways cause of it being more Tech under the Hood.

For now I am going to be busy on Tales of Xillia 2, Diablo, Borderlands & Mordor then Inquisition closes out 2014.

Actually, it will especially if you are smart and by second hand. Not to mention by then there will be version xyz of the ps4 with more hard drive space on it.

The devs said that something like this for an example: "if you see a bridge in the distant, it will be high polygon on next gen (xbox one, ps4 and pc), and on this gen (360, ps3), it will be in low polygon". I don´t think it will be smaller areas, no way, cause that feels kida game breaking, i mean we got GTA 5, assassins greed, etc, so i don´t think that will happen imo, sure the NPC will be perhaps less (if Bioware puts alot of effort into something that may or may not be that important) and things like that, but as you said it´s minor things :)
