PS3-360 versions to be Stripped, Barren & Empty

As for my PC, I prefer to use it only for RTS games.

I refuse to go PC, cause of CONSTANT UPGRADES,
A complete myth. My last card, an ati 4670, lasted me 5 years. An $80 card. And in the end it was my hard drive that seized up. If gamers won't invest in the industry, it won't move forward. You don't have to buy a PC, but you should at least buy a next gen system and encourage devs to do more than HD remakes. The console industry is still mired in cash grabs.

OP ignores posts about nonsensical issues...
OP makes subsequent post as if he is answering the original post issues....
Bring on the 'I hate you all. I'm taking a break' post.

Yeah, ditto. Buy smart and you don't have any problems. My GPU is 3 years old, my CPU/Mobo/RAM combo is 2 years old, and so far I've yet to run into any game that's made me want to upgrade again.
Nop, i hate dealing with overheating and repaste the cpu and gpu.
...if you keep having to repaste your CPU because of overheating, you're probably slobbering too much paste on there in the first place. And I'm not aware of any GPU needing thermal paste?

Well what do you expect OP, these consoles are old. Buy a next gen console and play it there. Start saving money.

If you have the skill, it's good to pull out the GPU, open it, and clean it. Sometimes, there's a problem where it ships with too much thermal paste, so you remove the old and add new stuff.
Of course, this applies equally to consoles. They're just harder to clean.

Lol, wow. It's not going to drop that much in price at all. The funbox is still expensive given the outdated hardware it has. No wonder the console industry is said to hold everything back...
People need to invest if they want to see more innovation and better tech.
The PS3 Slim is half the price the original system launched at.
So yeah they will.

You're mean, and you have hurt my feelings :'(They get the shaft AND the short end of the stick? That's too much for the filthy console peasants. They should get one or the other. Or maybe one and they have to buy the second as DLC, or only get it by being an XBox gold member.
Whatever the case, if you want the best game possible then fork over the money to get a current-gen console or buy a PC and learn to periodically upgrade. The XBox 360 came out in 2005, play on it and you're going to get a game that looks and runs like it was made 7-10 years ago.

Partially because that last console generation lasted so long. As someone who was part of the PC upgrade rat race since the late 90s, it's not par for the course.

Sometimes the stock cooling on a GPU breaks down if you run it too hot. I had to do this with my Sapphire x1650 a few years back after the cat fur incident. My understanding is that this is more likely with crappy paste.

Haven't PC's been dealing with this for years? Sure, you can play Skyrim, but if you want your draw distance long enough to make archery viable, you're going to need a new GPU.
I don't see why this is a big deal.

Obviously there is going to be differences between current gen and next-gen consoles, the newer hardware gives devs a lot more to work with. That being said I don't think the 360 and ps3 versions will be barren and empty, sure maybe a bit less detail, and a few less unimportant npcs, but the overall game and mechanics will be the same. I'll most likely be getting this for the 360, waiting for some good boxing day sales this year to grab a next-gen console and I'm not worried about the differences. Graphics to me will always be secondary to the story and enjoyment of playing the game, hell, I still play some old ps1 games when I feel nostalgic without any complaints. So will it look better on next-gen? Obviously, but the story and game mechanics will be exactly the same, I can live with a few less npcs and extra environmental details.

I refuse to go PC, cause of CONSTANT UPGRADES, being Ram, Motherboards, Windows, to a new Video Card which most of those are high as a Console now being 300 to 400 a pop being Brand versions such as Nvidia to other Brands.
A console is better cause I can update via PSN or XBL, which can Update System Stability, to other details from Performance to PS Firmware Updates.
Unlike a PC which you have to BUY EVERYTHING, The only reason PC is Superior is cause you have to buy a New Video Card.
Actually, you have it exactly backwards.
On the PC you can (but don't have to) upgrade all those components individually, when you can afford it and when upgrading a particular one makes the most sense to you. Otherwise, you simply have the capabilities of the platform at the time you bought it. Exactly like the consoles. And like the consoles, the hardware manufacturers publish updates to their drivers and other embedded software on a regular basis.
But it's with the consoles, not the PCs, that you "have to BUY EVERYTHING" at once. ![]()

It is kind of weird seeing console peasants looking down on their lesser last gen brothers and sisters with their outdated and shoddy tech. It is like they're evolving. Maybe one day they will eventually join the real master race of PC gaming.

OT: There's lots of stuff that eats up processing that can be toned down for last gen users without touching gameplay. In addition to lowering the polygon for background images another user mentioned, there might be fewer ambient effects and purely aesthetic details that will not be missed.
I understand the concern about paying the same for a game that has "fewer features." If that was the case, you'd be perfectly justified in feeling overcharged. It might help to think of it as BW producing the best possible game with as many extras as possible while reducing load times and crashes.
Nop, i hate dealing with overheating and repaste the cpu and gpu.
My partner just fixed a machine that was a couple months old with the same problem. It turns out the plastic cover was left on the CPU, with the thermal paste applied right on top. The problem had been "repaired" a couple times previously, but evidently the clear plastic can be hard to spot. You've probably already checked this if you're doing your own repairs, but it might help.

A broken autocorrect system that thinks he's starting new sentences?
Still doesn't explain why he puts up with it.

Than it wouldn't be random, but following certain rules (e.g. all nouns and names). But since the OP obviously doesn't follow these rules....
