I want to know if I can run Mass Effect 1 on my laptop.
I have a:
AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile M500
4GB of RAM
AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 with 128mb of ram

and my OS is a Windows 7 64-bit

I also want to know what is the highest resolution I could run the game with out it lagging?  Like will I have to put the game at the lowest setting to run it well, since I only have 128mb of ram?

Pretty much Medium-Low Settings with no Dynamic Shadows at the MAXIMUM Resolution of 1024x768, even then you will still struggle a bit. It is playable, but not really pretty though.

Can You Run It?

Check there as well and it'll give you a good indication if your system can run the game (ME2 was added to their list as well).

Everyone, listen to some advice. SR Labs is just too inaccurate for reliable results. Don't waste any time with the place. If you insist on buying a PC Game when all you know anything about is the console platforms, you are not a good prospect for the more advanced hardware. Those people should stick with what they know.

For anyone who is willing to learn about PCs, but so far hasn't had the time, the place to use that is actually decent at doing what SR Labs is unable to do, is YouGamers' Game-o-Meter.

P. S.  The HD 4200 may be at the top of its own ladder, but it's only a very short, stubby little ladder for onboard video chips, and is for low-end games.  It cannot achieve medium settings.

FYI, the following suggestion(next after mine here)  is useful, but GPU Review does not include anything for IGPs, and very limited listings for laptop video as well.  I use them a lot, but it's only readily applicable within the same families of GPUs (comparing Geforces to Radeons that way is far less useful).

Theres also GPUreview's compare feature which should give most people an idea where they stand in comparison to the released recommended GPU, 8800GT.

thanks for all the info. i just have a quick question about hardware, my computer says i have 1.9GB of video ram. I know that's not what is on my video card but what its sharing with the system's ram. is there a way to find out specifically how much vid ram i have? i did the whole dx-thing but its stating i have a total of 1.9GB. i just want to make sure the 128mb is what i have on my video card.
