Let's be honest one delay is usually indicative that a game isn't going to really complete or ready upon the second projected release date and to be honest your recent track record isn't strong when one of your mega franchise titles is pushed back a few times and out comes ME3 with it's various flaws and wide spread criticisms from fans and critics.

Sure the shareholders are scaried about the impact the Witcher 3 could have on DAI's profitability if they are released in close proximity but then again does anyone really think that the Witcher 3 will completely overshadow DAI or rather those who are going to buy one or the other or both will still do the same no matter when either is released anyway.

Are you confident in your development with the Frostbite engine? Even DICE who built the Frostbite engine released a buggy mess in Battlefield 4 and then could you really release a shaky bug ridden game even if it only takes a little more time to release a refined masterpiece that could ultimately return Bioware to it's glory days.

And let's not forget the most important need and desire coming from EA for multiplayer and the inevitable microtransactions. If DAI gets properly pushed back then there is all the time in the world for DAI to get a proper MP rather than shallow and short sighted ME3MP. IF DAI MP is exceptional it could keep a high volume of players playing for a even longer time than the run ME3MP had.

Seriously I hope they took the time they really need. I will not buy this DA day-one. I'll wait gamers feed back. But I still hope this DA will be good, and rushing it isn't beneficial...

I don't think anyone outside of BioWare has enough knowledge to state whether BioWare needs more time or not.

Also it is kind of a fact that EA has been pushing too many studios to rush games out the door and they come out half baked like NBA Live 14, Battlefield 4, and even Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare wasn't working right on release.

I mean who wants to fire up DAI on day one only to have it in a semi-playable state and have to wait a week to a few months for a patch or update that almost fixes it and then have to wait till some time in 1st or 2nd quarter to get the update or patch that finally makes the game completely playable

Ah No. DA:I is coming out this Year. Plus, it's going to be great. And IF there are those people still lurking around that complained for months after ME3 was released then they just not buy Video Games from now on, it will save those of us with Higher Brain Functionality the trouble of putting them in their place.

The game has already gone through a development delay - it was originally slated for late last year, if memory serves correctly.

Also, really? Beating the ME3 dead horse?

Rinse, Repeat and Complain more about a perfectly good product. A Common trait amongst a small percentile of the Bioware Social community.

Not sure why Battlefield 4 gets quoted as an example of possible problems with the Frostbite 3 engine.

Battlefield 4's problems were all multiplayer-related, the biggest flaw being the 10 hz server updates that generated lag, "sudden death" and death behind cover, because 10 hz was so slow that most automatic guns fired faster than the clients got server updates, which led to all kind of inconsistent crap. Real rookie mistake, that one.

The BF4 single player, while being little more than an extended tutorial, was pretty much bug free, or at least I didn't experience any. And DA:I will be single player focused, as far as I know. Even if there will be multiplayer, I doubt it will feature weapons upwards of 600 RPM, or any cover-based shooter mechanics at all.

And while the multiplayer of BF4 and ME3 have microtransactions, they're really optional and an "extra", not a necessity. Both games played fine without tossing in any additional money.

It's true that you can never be finished with developing a game and one key component of game development is time, but it is also money. I highly doubt that EA is able to afford keeping DA:I in the oven.

Seriously though, if you are in doubt, don't buy it. Wait for reviews, price drops, etc.

First and foremost, as Maria said, who are you to judge wheter Bioware needs more time or not.

Your assumptions are based on biased opinions and have nothing to do with what's actually happening.

EA has allowed Bioware to take as much time as they need since the community has spoken out, furthermore, the game looked playable 1 year ago when we got the demo in Crestwood and the Western Approach.

The reason for the first 1 year delay was because the fans wanted more races and a bigger scale/polish for the game.

The reason for this 1.5 month delay was simply more time for fixing bug to give us the best possible launch.

Also, the game's content was "finished" like 2 months ago, now it's just fixing bugs and polishing things and I am confident DA:I will come out as a polished masterpiece!

The game had a TON of development time(unlike DA:II which unfortunately had little to none development time) and the game's features are looking amazing!!

Yeeeeah :P

And I bet that lone-hotdog stand down the street from my apartment is really impacting the local McDonalds resturant in sales too.

I think if there really was bug or any problems , a month delay they did just wont cut...

But originally I think they delayed it due to marketing , coz October has tons of good or even great game releases. While November doesnt and no holidays in that time zone.

OP a post full of unsupported, unqualified & general waffle.

People can laugh this off but I am getting the same feeling from the DAI trailers and other info releases that I had about when ME3 info was coming out. You guys just chalk it up to a lone crazy voice and say I have a "Cassandra Complex" when it comes to these things but to quote Star Wars "I have a bad feeling about this".

I don't see how, given that they're in different quarters. Besides which, apples and oranges. The only way Witcher and Dragon Age are close is that they're both very loosely some definition of a fantasy RPG.

Just because you have a biased feeling towards Bioware production doesn't mean your claims hold any weight to them.

DA:I development conditions are miles away from ME3's.

Another ignored factor is that DAI is in development for 5 formats and it's safe to assume that at least 2 in not all 5 versions of the game will need tailoring to each if they are not a slapdash porting job.
