I just want the OP to list a few of the current problems that he/she doesn't think will be sorted by released date.

Obviously the OP has extensive knowledge of the game, probably a tester or someone on the Dev team to know exactly the current state of the game right? RIGHT?

It's fair to be worried bout releasing near the Witcher 3. Looks like it will be a great game.

*there was a big angry rant here*

But then I realised it was pointless...and angry...and a bit mean.  I'm not sorry...

They've been working on the game for a long time.  It will be ready.

Let's be honest here, the worst part of Mass Effect 3 was the ending, which, is like, the last 25 minutes of a 20 to 25 hour long vanilla game. It still perplexes me why people dislike the entire Mass Effect series--a 100+ hour long series--for some reason now just because of the last 20 to 25 minutes of it.

Same here, I can still enjoy Mass Effect 1&2 perfectly well despite ME3's ending being a bunch of pretentious nonsense. I just feed Shepard to Morinth after defeating the collectors every time, and say that's where Shepard's journey ended.

Mass Effect 3 multiplayer was awesome. Most underrated part of the game. Only didn't like how it tied up with single player.

Hey Bioware, Alistair asks couldn't you crawl into a bush somewhere and die? That would be great, thanks.

Geez.

For **** sake, by the time they release they will have worked on the game for 4 years. If that's not enough time, nothing is..

Poe's law. Seriously, I invite you to look that up because it certainly applies here.

Most definitely a case of Poe's Law in action. You see so many similarly sarcastic comments from detractors, the knee jerk reaction nowadays is to automatically assume that those people aren't kidding. A sad, but unfortunately true, attitude that'd been drilled into most of us after all the barrage of complaints about the ME3 ending. :?

Glad I was completely off the mark in this case, however!

So, why were people ok with a 2 months extra delay but not with the idea of delaying it until 2015?  What if they said they needed even more time to "fix bugs" and "polish" the game?  I just don't understand people's reactions.  If it were to release in January 2015, it'd be only two months of extra waiting.

Personally, even with the extra delays, the game will launch with a bunch of bugs and a patch will be out even before most people get a hand on the game.  And we all know the real reason of the extra delay was to give the game a more favorable launch period by releasing it in a less crowded time period.  The "polishing" argument was just to avoid angering people, and apparently, many do buy that argument.

What's funny though is that so many other games are changing release periods to avoid October so Dragon Age Inquisition probably didn't need to change dates.  An early 2015 release date is probably more favorable than the end of the year period, given that DAI is not really considered one of the big games of the end of the year period.

That's your assumption (and a conspiratorial one, at that). "We" don't all know anything, and please don't speak for me.

I'm totally prepared to accept that it was delayed for polishing and bug fixing reasons, not least because Mike has said a bunch of times that DA:I's development has been an incredibly hard road, given the engine switch and the scope of the game.

Also, because that was the reason they gave - if you start reflexively distrusting everything a developer says and seeing ulterior motives behind all their decisions, that way lies madness.

I don't think anyone outside of BioWare has enough knowledge to state whether BioWare needs more time or not.

I did. Said (imho) it needs more time - everyone called me stupid. then the game got delayed. Oh the irony.

First and foremost, as Maria said, who are you to judge wheter Bioware needs more time or not.

Your assumptions are based on biased opinions and have nothing to do with what's actually happening.

And yes, I will mention that every time someone says "you dont know anything (Jon Snow)". As a human being I am able to draw pretty accurate conclusions by approximation.

The drones can still call me stupid though.

I still hope the game is brilliant, but some dark clouds gathering foreshadow something entirely else to what my wishes are. And in case the game is botched I reserve the right to throw it in your face after. Just because I am fed up with mindless claquers blindly defending ANYTHING Bioware. Not ONE constructive critique is taken into consideration on this forum.

... but you'll be totally silent if it's amazing, right? Admissions of being wrong are just as welcome as gloating, probably more so.

Lets be honest... The ENDING is just a tip of the iceberg that sunk Titanic. ME3 had more problematic issues like the change in tone and main idea of the series - meaning writing issues. It seams somebody cut out the original content, sans Genophage and few others, and attached prosthetic plot and lore. Which deteriorates the whole ME3 experience. The epitome is the ending, written last minute it seems. And what we know about last minute deals? They are cheap!

It's not very constructive when it's baseless. None of us are privy to Inquisition's current state of development. Without that context, all we can do is make assumptions based on feelings.

You should've looked in to the sales of the Witcher games, before you made a fool out of yourself.

Not that I agree with their point, but you should probably consider the sales of a hotdog stand vs a restaurant before pursuing that argument.

I think it is bioware and eas call. Bioware from how long they need. Ea from how long it takes to market to main stream. We are not the mainstream. If bioware wants another delay and it is valid. Fine. If they can't finalize though that is another issue because sooner or later someone has to say done.

I love all the threads that are basically random people wanting to Backseat run a Video game company from a Forum post:

"DEVS PLEASE READ!!!"
"BioWare you should probably not make a new Mass Effect!"
"Elves and Dwarves are OVERRATED, BIOWARE remove them from Dragon Age!!!!!"

That happened because your opinion was completely based on conjecture and imagination, and not any actual facts. The fact that the game ultimately was delayed by two more months is a coincidence. Please move on.

That's a matter of opinion. For myself, and a great many people, ME3 was very good fun up until the final moments, which unfortunately soured the experience for many (not really too much for me, though. I absolutely got my money's worth from that game.)
