So, a preview of the Last Flight has been released on Amazon.

Chronologically, the story ocurrs afters Asunder but many chapters details the story of the Fourt Blight with Garahel being featured.

The main character is Valya, an elven mage who sought refuge from the Templars amidst the Grey Wardens. She is tasked with searching the records for events where the Grey Wardens acted in manners consistent with mind control (probably a hint of Corypheus in DAI) and she discovers the journal of Isseya, Garahel's sister.

Most of the preview happens in Antiva City just as the whole royal family falls to the Blight and it ends with a group of Templars informing the Dragon Age Grey Wardens that they passed by entire fortresses of Wardens that had been abandoned for seemingly no reason (Corypheus again, perhaps?)

Personally, I did not like Garahel. He acts almost exactly like Maric and Alistair. He even named his griffin "Crookytail"

Also, there's this elven Warden named Caronel who claims he is from Ferelden and became one after Cailan's death so, who the hell recruited him?

Anyay, rejoice, there are griffins in this story.

I agree. I didn't like him that much either. He seemed very vain and arrogant in my opinion. Almost too perfect. I liked his sister much more.

I haven't read any of the preview yet but from what i've heard it sounds pretty interesting, i'm looking forward to getting the book.

Do you know something the rest of us don't?  The review doesn't go into Garahel's personality at all, nor the name of his griffon.  Please do tell.... ;)

Actually I find it daring, as if being raised as a elf was not hard enough he joined grey warden ranks only to endure even more hardships. Finding laughs and fun anywhere possible such as naming your griffon like that is totally understandable in his case.

Also, someone posted that Garahel's sister froze some griffon eggs in stasis in time.

I'm not sure how truthful that is tough.

If so, I WANT ONE!

The bits I read actually excited me more than Asunder or TME.

I'm not sure. I mean, I liked the parts I read just fine but there seems to be a major lapse in the lore already.

If Caronel truly became a Warden after Cailan's death, in the early days of the Blight, then who recruited him? We were the only Wardens left in Ferelden.
And where was he while we were gathering armies?

I hope this won't turn into another "ME Deception".

Lol. In a conversation, Morrigan will speak about Garahel's sexual prowess if the Warden decides to flirt with her in some instances.

Watch as the book proves it was a myth and he lasts two minutes.

No freakin' idea about Caronel. And I haven't seen anything that truly breaches the lore yet. I'll hold judgment till I get the book, in that regard.

I'm no sure what I can tell you.

If you check the preview on Amazon, there is a scene where he is given a griffon so he can help evacuate the royalty of Antiva (who are killed by guards when they realized they were being left behind).
In true cliched fashion, Garahel picks the runt of the litter and names him "Crookytail". Of course, when the Archdemon comes after them, Crookytail proves he is faster than any other griffon and pulls them through.

So I'm guessing DAI takes place in 9:41?

That wouldn't surprise me. We have to ask how he was from his human mage lover.

Anyway trust only in Amazon as few hours ago I read some stuff that turned out to be pure bull****.

The preview jumps around for different people. Usually everyone gets the first chapter, others get more. I myself got up to page 64.

Yup. Cause the Breach has clearly not erupted yet within the novel, so we know DAI will take place afterwards.

Garahel: dangerously sexy hero who selflessly made the ultimate selfless sacrifice for the good of the world and is so remembered by history? Or total dork prettyboy martyred for the greater good by more capable companions who went on to live a life of hedonism and living legend befitting the real protagonist?

Apparently he was quite handsome too so he was the perfect person for this sort of thing.

He looks like Legolas, from what I read.

Garahel. Valya is pretty interesting so far. And Isseya, Garahel's sister, seems ok as well.

Though Isseya pretty much describes Garahel as an airhead.
