If I consider just the glacier speedrun attempts, I'd say about 20 (this was a long while ago, before I learned to remove the undesirable objectives). 

 

That seems about right.  I think I had about 50 hours worth of soloing with modded objectives before I hit my first sub-20.  But like Techno has mentioned, getting the first one is the hardest.  Basically, I just watched (and attempted to emulate) a bunch of Techno, Alquinn, and TNS speedruns, and then adjusted to fit my style (more of a brute force / in your face approach, as opposed to longer range killing).  So thank you to all the speedrunners on this forum for inspiring me to venture into the world of speedrunning.  Unfortunately, now that I have discovered speedrunning (and subsequently AGDQ), there are more interesting games to speedrun, lol - so I may be retired?

I never really bothered with solos too much until recently, did around 10 total over the past three years. My sub 20 min adventures began pretty much accidentally with the fury a few weeks back and every solo after that has been sub 20 or wipe 

 

Sub 20 on Glacier isn't all that difficult with the right characters really. You just need to avoid the usual "solo-mindset" of trying to stay alive at all costs, and play more like a normal team game, focusing on killing stuff instead. Good objectives and spawn nuking obviously helps a lot. On other maps or with non-solo-friendly characters, skillz is needed as well.

wanted to test out recording a decent quality video on my new gpu so chose basically the most no-effort combo I could think of because i was tired, still missed 90,000 shots but lift grenades so didn't matter. Don't even know if I'll actually add this to the list anyway, because I liked the raider solo vs cerb better and there's no reason for asari vanguard to be like 30 percent me 

 

I can record 720p/60fps without my ancient computer choking and dying again so that's kinda cool, I still don't have a super(wasteofmoney)computer or uber-powerful gpu but making standard definition videos in the year of our lord 2015 was kind of embarrassing.

Had some technical difficulties that arose out of shadowplay and windows 7 not playing nice together though so the video quality really suffered, resulting in some really bad artifacts and terrible audio quality. Going to go back to afterburner for future recordings like I did for my asari video.

The reason I was asking about how many solos it took players on average was I wanted to gauge if I would have the patience to do one ...

I know, right? It's pretty amazing to think how skills evolved in solos in this game...

I remember having to try like... 70+ times to break 20 with the Slayer for the first time. Back then it was a pretty big deal. I think before that only 3 characters had been sub-20'd...
