And the definition of a weak mage is? What's the power distribution curve like? The mages in Ferelden are clearly powerful enough to kick up a rather annoying fuss.

And where's the evidence that they do hold weak mages as slaves? The DA wiki doesn't say much about them holding weak mages as slaves. I'm not saying it is and I'm not saying it isn't, but I'd like to see something on that point rather than just accepting it.

And even if they do hold them as slaves, what of it? The fact they'd be slaves hardly means that they can't be used to kill your enemies - and they're obviously getting some form of power out of it or there'd be no point; selfish individuals are not necessarily stupid ones.

I've not seen you explain how you'd deal with the Darkspawn or Qunari. Granted the forum has terrible search functionality inside threads so it's possible I'm missing something, but all I've seen you write is that Thedas would have been in a better position to fight the Qunari if the mages hadn't caused the Blights in the first place. Which may be true or may not be, but either way isn't the world that's in front of us.

Definition of weak mage in that is a mage who can't compete stronger mages in terms of power...

Pretty much fenris mentioned about that also considering honestly follows rule might makes right it rather tell us.

Oh of course it doesn't mean stupid ones but as DG pointed in interview weak point that tevinter mages have is that they don't work with each other pretty much slaves would end benefical for individuals rather than nation. Not mention that it would backfire for tevinter but they would have handle more damage.

Also one of devs said that tevinter rly isn't very intrested in helping mages outside tevinter as well they would be only competition for them so they aren't pro-mage and don't fight for mages rather they are simple intrested in themselves.

Well to be honest im little tried now so i will give very simplified give some mages to the grey wardens and they will deal with blight as always and to focus on technological progress instead on licking wounds after disasters that mages have caused.

We have been told that we will be able to resolve the mage/templar issue in DA:I

that means probably taking on one side to help the Inquisition

It means I'll give them both the chance to prostrate themselves in repentance. But, in the end it is up to them whether they'll reconcile with the Maker in this life... or the next.

I like that idea,or crushing them into servitude.Either one is what I'll be doing.

Same here, I'll need all the help I can get against the Elder One. Time for this Mage vs Templar crap to end and everyone just work together and put their petty problems aside.

Yeah, Citation 7 on the DA wiki for the character.  Arl Teagan's letter featured in DAI and was released a while ago, it speaks of the war between the mages and templars raging across his lands.

And the books, demos and other released information don't mean much to me.

If it isn't confirmed, it isn't confirmed, its a simple line i draw.

And Book Lore is...ignored when it is preferable to do it.

Unfortunate but it happens.

Fine see it how you want and I will see the way I want. And I include the books, all of them, in the lore when I make observations about DA.

No Anders questions what the chantry is hiding, he does not admit to anything. Besides the Imperial Chantry says its the old gods who created the darkspawn and became archdemons and mages had nothing to with it, except those who were puppets of old gods, aka possessed. I have no reason to believe the white chantry over the imperial one.

SO the old gods were responsible? Glad we agree on the matter. Of course old gods had close apprentices who happened to be mages, Why not lets blame ALL the mages for it. Even the Tevinter cannot be held responsible for this. besides the city was already black so boogeymen did not corrupt the golden city, it was already corrupted.

But aren't you doing the exact same thing with claiming the templars are evil. You are basiclly saying don't blame all the mages for the actions of a few. That could easily be said for the Templars aswell.

In my opinion, the order needs charismatic Templars and elf/dwarven/oxmen Templars.

I don't remember using the word "evil". The Templar order has gone ahead of itself and no longer what it used to be. Mages are born mages but Templars become templars, there is a huge difference.

There's a dwarven Templar in the Last Flight, the new novel.

He showed up with a few other Templars right before the Amazon preview ended for me, so I didn't get any real info on him other than his race.

Now if we could just get a city elf Templar, I'll be really happy.

That would be awesome and would remove my bias toward them.

Gaider confirmed they exist.

They are just fairly rare.

Yay, wish I could read about them or hope we'll see one in the upcoming game.

All that's missing now is oxmen Templars.

You know rebel templar captain from Asunder?

She was originally slated to be an elf, that's where Gaider commented originally for Elven Templars.

Oh yeah, the colossal idiot, I remember.

Still, I would like to see city elves in the Order in the upcoming game.
