damn. my brain must have completely shut down there. I honestly read it as his favourite character from a previous game I'll edit it now.

I think OP thinks that's a reference to one of Mike's favourite characters becoming the scout leader, rather than one of his favourite characters in Inquisition is the scout leader (which I'm 99% sure is what was intended)

It would be amazing if Isabela came back for Inquisition. There wouldn't even be any retconning necessary.

 

I get the feeling it's a new character though, not a returning one, based on the way those tweets (including the subsequent ones that you don't have in the OP) were worded.

In DA2? no. you can not meet her at all though. (I prefer her to the mercenarys though) and It always felt like they had more stuff planned for her that didn't make it into the final game.

It says on the wiki that she attacks you if you tell her you let Pryce take the goods. Does she manage to escape before you finish her off?

Sebastian is a self-rightious [Cencored], he also proved in DA:2 that he is really bad at decision-making. He is insecure, indecisive and a chantry supporter. He does not have the skill, personality, authority or mindset to be a scout leader.

Isabela is a thieving pirate. Despite reading she left that behind - it would still heavily influence her personality. She is unthrustworthy and irresponsible and in no way fit to lead your scouts.

Tallis is a Qunari sympathizer, it would completely ruin it for me if its her and she has plot armor again. But its possible.

 

Athenril could work, Nathaniel Howe aswell.

@Samahl I never did that so IT completely slipped my mind, but she could have survived like Leliana did. Also I think Nathaniel would be great for a leadership position in inquisition, however he has too many variations to account for (dead, Grey warden, free, dead)

I didn't mean to sound like a jerk but why does everyone suspect it'll be a returning character? We knew nothing about this scout leader more than it's Mike's favorite this doesn't imply that it's the returning character, and for all we know this could be a brand new character with unique traits.

There is a guy who reveals a portion of the information contains spoiler from the novel on dragon age. wiki forum, but I really hope this rumour stay a rumour. He manages to get quite far in the preview of this novel.

That's true however I did get the "returning character" vibe from the tweets , however it is just as likely (if not more so) that it will be a new, or really obscure, character.
