The characters you love to hate. #DAI

B The Arishok. That dude was badass

Loghain, but he's an antagonist. Arishok is a close second.
Architect is only arguably a villain surely?
At least, without meta book knowledge.
Out of those 3?
Arishok definitely. He was one of a few highlights of Dragon Age 2. He gave the player a great insight into the Qun (much more so than Sten ever could), and if you played your cards right he grew to respect Hawke (maybe even vice versa). The last duel with him was great dialogue wise. His design is awesome too.
Hands down my favorite out of the three.
Meredith (even with her mediocre backstory) was just a typical lawful evil, slight maniacal character. Plus the fact that she didn't really interact with the player till third act took away from her depth.
The Architect is much more interesting if one reads The Calling but overall he didn't leave as much of a lasting impression as Arishok did, even if his motives were interesting.
In terms of danger to all of Thedas?
The Architect, hands down.
Anyone who's version of 'peace' is to mutate all life on Thedas into Darkspawn hybrids is a bigger threat then a religious zealot or a crazy person with a magic rock.
Still though, if it wasn't for the Architect then we never would have gotten to meet the Messenger; so there is a silver lining to the Architect.
Out of those 3..the arishok.

Meraas toh ebra-shok!
Probably cause you were too busy drooling over him, manOut of those 3..the arishok.
Out of those three, the Arishok by far, he was an excellent character, earning his respect was actually one of my favorite moments in the series. If only his duel wasn't so lame from a gameplay perspective... ![]()
Much like Loghain though, wouldn't even call him a villain, just an antagonist.
Loghain would be my favorite overall though.
Meredith shouldn't even be compared to those two, she was basically a caricature.
Out of all the villains, I thought the Arishock was the most interesting. The Architect coming in a close 2nd.
The architect. Unique, enigmatic and not your classical villain.
I don't really hate them...I found them extremely interesting. I guess if I had to pick one I disliked more, I'd say Meredith. But they're all super cool. Especially the Arishok.
I've been told I'm going to hate the Architect once I finish reading The Calling, so maybe that will change my opinion towards him
.
Probably cause you were too busy drooling over him, man
Oh, I just used the pause to drool... errr..... watch where he could attack ![]()
I liked Meredith a lot. Too bad you only got her full story if you sided with the templars throughout Act 2/3.
Anders trumps all.
Personally, Meredith is the only one of those 3 that actually feels like a real villain/antagonist/whatever you want to call them, and even then she was kinda flat. I didn't really feel like the Architect or the Arishok really did much as compared to her and Loghain. Honestly though, I don't really think the DA has any real good main villains. There are a couple of good ones in quests here and there but the main big bad often feels very underwhelming compared to the minor ones.
Arishok was one bad mofo and he certainly lived up to that in the 1v1 encounter of being as difficult as I imagined on a Warrior...on Nightmare...
