OT: If Bioware were really set on making platinum a mixed faction difficulty then some kind of enemy interaction between those factions would have been nice. Cerberus Engineers repairing Geth Primes, Centurians spawning geth turrets instead of grenades, Marauders buffing Assault Troopers etc.

Yes! I would love platinum more if it had that kind of interaction. Or make the whole match a four-way death battle.

I don't see how. Make them be indoctrinated mercenaries; have some part of Aria's fleet get captured and indoctrinated and turned back to fight you. Problem solved.
I'd personally really like superbosses. Harvesters, for example, and Geth Colossi, and Commander Praetorians(basically the praetorians from the second game. IE, actually badass). And Gunships+Phantom Captain. Maybe have it so you've gotta beat one at the end of wave ten in order to get your final credit payout. Or even worse, have it happen at the same time as the objective.
Also, it would be kinda fun to have a mode with multiple enemy factions, except they're fighting each other as well as you. It would be hard to explain with Collectors and Reapers, but the other two have fairly good reasons for fighting all the other factions to achieve their goals.

New unit spawns.
Exploding Reaper-Elcor Vanguards with Biotic Charge.
Indoctrinated Pyjaks. 3 spawn at all times, and use a debuffing ability called "Fling S**t". It impairs your view and drastically lowers accuracy. 5 Stacks and you receive a 10 second "stun/immobilize" that leaves you retching. These units have a target acquisition priority, Puggernauts, and anyone using a Reegar, are prioritized first.
Entering the shuttle on Wave 11 is now an option. You can choose to remain.
Wave 12 added. New boss, Megavolus w/Thresher Maw Cannon. The goal is to last as long as you can while gathering loot in the form of coins that are scattered across the landscape.

1. Increased enemy limit (10 instead of 8)
2. Limit on the bosses should be 1 (until wave 3), 2 (for waves 4 to 6) and 3 (from 7 to 11)
3. Better mix of enemies (why have 3 pyros on wave 8 coll. platinum? I'd rather have 1 pyro, 1 phantom and 1 marauder - 3 enemies with different speeds, and different styles of attacks will make it a lot more interesting)
4. Unpredictable wave compositions (so that it's not possible to know the enemies in a given wave before hand) - sometimes collector wave 8 will have 2 primes and 1 crab while sometimes it's 1 banshee, 1 prime and 1 atlas, while it's something else the next time)
And sometimes it will be only primes(8-10 whatever is the limit) ![]()

What I think could have been fun is to keep all the stats from Gold but change the AI completely. The AI gets different powers/attacks that are only available in Platinum (so it is truly unique from Gold) and the AI can actually plan things like defensive positions or coordinated attacks. Maybe for Hacks they recognize that a Russian style offensive of throwing as many troops down their neck to whittle them down is most efficient, but Escorts are best defended against using ambushes. It would have just been nice to see an AI that actually thinks instead of just shoots and takes cover semi-randomly. I don't really think more enemies would be necessary if they were coordinated. Just imagine if they recognized that when they are all grouped up a single rocket could take them all out...

More smaller spawns, so you get groups of 3 enemies spawning at 3 different points (9 total) to make spawn nuking harder.
Longer waves with 2-5X as many mooks.
Enemy health 50% higher and have them move 20% faster.
No mixed factions.

I'd first become an alchemist.
That or make the unit compositions have more synergy and maybe increase the unit count to 10-12. Something along those ideas.
