I really don't want to believe it. It's rare celebrity deaths strike me this hard.

Williams, in particular, delivered a lot of iconic voices with that amazing range of his comedy work, but also in the cartoon business, characters like Genie in Aladdin. Outside of that he was also an incredible actor in amazing stuff like Terry Gilliam's Fisher King, One Hour Photo, Insomnia and of course, Matt Damon's Good Will Hunting, where he did what he does best. He delivered a performance that ranged from comedic to dramatically powerful. He was quite simply a powerhouse and a big part of my love for cinema and good comedy is in no due small part thanks to this man.

 

One of his awesome moments that stick out for me, when he occasionally hosted award shows, or stand up comedy, would have to be his job as host for Al Pacino's Life Achievement Award show. RIP Robin -- Because we'll all miss you. "When you put Robert De Niro in dryer, you get AL PACINO". "Sitting there at the table that looks like the Last Supper staged by Armani".

It's almost incomprehensible that a man who brought forth so much joy could be so wracked with despair. It's demonstrative of how insidious depression is.

 

He was integral part of my childhood and I'll always have fond memories of those times.

Wow that mega ultra suck. If there's one actor I always really loved was him. I rememebr back in 2001-2004 when I played DaoC.. I heard rumors that Robin William was playing  on my server and me and my guildy started a hunting of Robin Williams  hehe.

I was in love with Mork and Mindy. I had a pair of the rainbow suspenders even. Truly geeky 11 year old, but damn I adored those suspenders.

My husband and I just watched What Dreams May Come (for the umpteenth time), just a couple of nights ago. I just wanted to watch it.

 People being funny and also very depressed is a very common occurrence. It's basically the curse of being funny. The creative side of the brain makes people think of amazing stuff, but it also very unstable at times too.
