I voted I don't give a sh!t. The friendzone was a bit harsh, and probably inaccurate. Also, they clearly AREN'T normal. LOL
To be fair, they are just a group of people that like a certain thing. Which is perfectly normal...
However, their level of devotion is clearly not normal........
I know a few bronies...they scare me... ![]()
New study.
I need a conclusion so vote or something.

Eh. I think it's weird that a few of my friends go crazy over MLP, but then again I'm probably just as obsessive with LOTR, Star Wars, WoW, or DA. I don't think I have too much room to talk. I'm mean I know there's a few genuine creeps in that realm, but they're everywhere. As long you're not hurting anyone and don't go crazy where it effects your well being ( mental, physical, relationships, etc. ), or that of others around you who am I to judge?
I think it's just another thing to get geeky about, the same way Mass Effect or comic books are. And I've seen some pretty diehard Batman and Wrex fans.

I picked option 3. If someone has a problem with it, then too bad for them. ![]()

i voted I don't care. Then I don't care what anyone wants to do with their life as long as it doesn't effect me or hurt someone in a terrible way. I will never get it, but as long as they stay over there and do their thing and I stay over here and do mine, we will get along just fine.
It is really weird though.

I really don't care.
All the adult males I know aren't into MLP, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

Okay, I'm going to stick my foot in it... Frankly I think any adult male who seriously likes my little pony, unless he is buying them for his kids, is just a little on the creepy side. Sorry, but that's my gut reaction. Even as a little girl, I doubt if I would have kept my little pony characters around past age twelve.
If you want to collect figurines, why not have a more grown up collection of fantasy characters?
But I'm certainly no expert on this subject and you may be perfectly alright. I just really don't understand you.

Thanks for the post. What personally attracted me to the show had nothing to do with Ponies or the effeminate stuff. I was aware of the show for a while being joining in, and tossed if off in the "Not for Me" Category.Okay, I'm going to stick my foot in it... The abridged answer is the Meaningful storylines, Referencial Humor, parts of the fandom that have produced astounding content, and the fact that Lauren Faust and their team made a critically/commercially successful hit out of something like this is reason alone for me to stick with it. If people aren't into it, that's their choice - just like any other fandom.
Never bought the toys, not my thing. If you want to collect figurines, why not collect have a more grown up collection of fantasy characters?

Most fandoms are annoying but Bronies take it to the next level and have become a plague on the internet especially on YouTube where you will find scores of Bronies (easily identifiable by their pony avatars) commenting on videos often starting debates about the show (and often by referencing MLP). The major problem is when they "poniaze" characters from different shows/games and this has long since infected KnowYourMeme's site and its gallery for a while now.
As for grown adults watching the program? I don't find it disturbing but I do find it weird. I watched a few minutes of it once to see these supposedly well done plots and dialogue and for me, it was nothing different to something like Regular Show or Ben 10 (which also include veteran voice actors and pop references) asides from being clearly aimed at girls. I know there's also adults who watch Regular Show or Adventure Time but they haven't made a fandom out of it (and if they have then they have been very quiet about it unlike the Bronies who decided to make a religion out of theirs).

Depends on the episode. A bit like Zelda's franchise history, it varies from legendary to kill-it-with-fire. A lot of the first season is pretty much in that category. The balance has always been unbalanced. I'd argue the same for Regular Show/Adventure Time. They also have fandoms, but not to the same volume.I watched a few minutes of it once to see these supposedly well done plots and dialogue and for me, it was nothing different to something like Regular Show or Ben 10 (which also include veteran voice actors and pop references) asides from being clearly aimed at girls.
I can't fully defend the fanbase; Just like the show, you can find as much bad as you can good. If you want to focus on the bad, that's one's perogative I guess.

It's a fandom. Everyone has a certain thing they're a fan of, and they don't need a reason for it. I don't watch the show, but I don't hate people who do.
