I cannot kill my children as assassinations have been removed and I can't plot against my own children so I can only try to get them killed in a war.
I always only hold 1 empire and 1 kingdom because it is way easier to control but now, kingdom titles are automatically created. I can't destroy them since I'm on gavelkind and I can only give them away to ppl with tribal holdings since I myself am tribal. So this is a problem in for example england since all English provinces are feudal holdings so I can't give the king of England title to anyone in the kingdom of England...
But the big problem is that, I think, the game now sees the empire and kingdom titles as equal because they can't be inherited by the same guy...
There is a beta patch out so I am going to try that and see if that problem is fixed..

use the kill console command
I could do it since, for a change, I'm not playing Ironman and it wouldn't be the first time ![]()
But, Saxony is Elective Gavelkind so EVERY SINGLE kinsman is eligible to inherit empire and kingdom titles
I will have to completly destroy my entire dynasty for that to work, which, for some reason, does not sound like a good idea ![]()

All right I have been....absent from the forums for almost a month now, but in that time I have had quite a game going on.
This is with Charlemagne DLC and I forget what beta patch... A few tweak mods such as enabling Saxon clothes.
Started in Old Gods start date as Wessex. Took control of de jure England fairly easily and drove the Norse out. Since then I haven't really done much deliberate expansion in Britain, my vassals conquered Wales for me though so that was nice of them. Instead I've been focused on conquering France, Brittany, and Frisia.
King Cynehelm was the first to solidify control over all these lands.
However the stress was too great and he went insane a few years later.
After his institution of the divinely inspired Pants Edict and changing the currency to the recession proof turnip, the most wholesome of foods, the nobles got it in their head that maybe he shouldn't have unlimited power. And Cynehelm lived the rest of his days putting down civil wars.
Since then I haven't grown much in territory, been focused on not losing the throne to relatives or uppity nobles
bonus screen shots of those silly Greeks
Been spending a lot of blood and treasure trying to keep Jerusalem afloat, and help the Castillans throw out the Moor. SInce then the Castillans have formed an empire and fancied North Africa, and Jerusalem has fallen to a jihad that I was too weak to stop.

^ Abbasid (?) is very strong in this map. It has captured the modern Iran too.
Most of my kings and emperors had seduction problems. Hopefully I stopped them all in falling into lust!

They started out not very strong, then they started blobbing, then they almost busted, 90% decadence, but they managed to go all the way back to 0%, currently they are raising it more, and faster than before.
They hopefully will fall apart. They currently own most of North Africa, the Middle East, half of Persia, and Arabia. There's a single independent shia county, ad two other sunni kingdoms I think.

Legion Eagles have been planted on Iceland and the shores of the Indus.
I'll be taking the rest of Northern india and then waiting out the next 200 years to let provinces convert and start culture flipping.
I'd post a screenshot but Steam is being frustrating.

I don't have Charlemagne yet, so France, Italy, and Anatolia are held by vassal kings, but only at Medium Authority and Elective. Eventually I'll change those to Viceroyalties. Mauretania's duchies, half of Burgundy's, Sicily, and Cherson are all my direct vassals (and the latter two are merchant republics for that sweet, sweet tax income).
My main problem right now is the Abbablob - somehow they came back from the dead and now sprawl from the Don to Turkestan and Persia to Egypt to Abyssinia. Our top level levies are pretty much at a dead heat. What this really sets the stage for is for a Crusade or Jihad to get called for Jerusalem or Antaloia, which could tip the precarious balance depending on the outcome.

I suppose its time to set up a playthrough for the new DLC, I still have my most recent Anglo-Saxon game and another to accompany it is in order.... Either a run as Erik the Heathen, or a CC version of him, or perhaps a German

I don't even have the time to play a single CK II game with a DLC before they bring out the next one, and I haven't even started a new EU IV game!
I don't have time to continue with my Forever Pagan Empire of Saxony playthrough...
The new DLC looks nice though. It adds a lot more roleplay options to the game and the idea of spying sounds cool.
And, this DLC will add dogs, because dogs makes a game better.. appearantly.
Nice highlight video about Way of Life:

I still don't know How one could play for 400 years, then say screw it and start again with a new DLC.
I don't have time to play CK2 and if one day I play it I'll continue my Raja DLC Persia Empire.

In addition to the new Way of Life expansion, Paradox also released Iberian portraits and units. For 2 bucks a piece. Aside from those, Way of Life and Charlemagne, there's also a discount sale on steam.
Oh, Paradox, you haven't changed.

I hate paradox and their 2 dollar piecemeal dlc... but I can't stop myself from buying it ![]()
I've only played a few minutes of ck2 with Way of Life. The Focuses are a nice addition and being able to seduce people in your family is pretty amusing. But I honestly can't stand playing the vanilla game anymore. Going to wait for HIP to release an update before I start playing again.

My newest game has been going from the duke of Brandenburg in the 1200's to Kaiser of the Holy Roman Empire.
Following a series of conflicts with Henry the Lion over control of Northern Germany, and subsequent alliance and marriages, I managed to win the duchies of Saxony, Holstein, and conquered the pagan parts of Pomerania, and named myself King.
From there I was elected Kaiser at 70 odd and managed to get my heir elected, he then abolished elective succession once CA was high enough for Primogeniture. Sadly I lost control of Burgundy and Italy due to some massive rebellions against these policies.
Currently his grandson sits the throne and having put down another rebellion and a rival claimant (and disposing of his pesky brother) has situated his wife to be close in line to inherit Bavaria (which owns not only Bavaria but also much of North Western Germany). He has kept himself busy with conquering the pagan tribesmen to the East in the Baltic, and has allied himself with the Byzantine Empire
