Yeah, apparently my subjects thought it was tyrannical when I had my nephew executed, the same guy who plunged the realm into a long civil war when we were already in the process of being invaded.
Removing him from power or banishing him would have done the same.

and in other news, the benefits of being an immortal God Emperor, im thinking of waiting untill year 1000, curently 833, before i launch my next round of invasions, im currently holding all of Africa, Jerusalem, Syria, the Byzantine Empire's de jure lands, Italy and Bavaria, what should i go for next? I dont want to go after the HRE because im curious how long it will last on its own, also, i made Emperor Charles immortal too, being my great enemy and all, the leader of the christian barbarians against the true Roman Empire ![]()

How many kids do you have after a few centuries? I can't even imagine that family tree.

i made the immortal trait have fertility -3000 so i only have children if i want to and use the console command, right now i have 14, one for each kingdom i control (well i have 15 kingdoms but the last one goes to my wife) also, since my children are also immortal birth rates in the dynasty are limited, 160 years in and i have 144 dynasty members, 122 of which are alive, about 40 have landed titles
and a fun fact, one of my sons has 20 children which are not really his

and in unrelated news, the Umayyad now control all of the iberian peninsula....thanks to some help from their Roman allies....

Having played too many bouts as one of the Jimena brothers to see Umayyads as anything other than a deadly enemy to be crushed (or BE crushed yourself). Umayyad bro?

they don't declare war because vassal levies are bugged for large empires for some reason, they don't disband so they can't declare war

Looking forward to the new EU IV DLC that is going to be announced this weekend.
It looks like it might be colonisation focussed as the last stream from Paradox (that is, before they managed to break the observer mode
) showed that colonial nations with more than 10 provinces provide you with an extra merchant and the addition of treasure fleets to the game.
I had hoped for a more Eastern focussed DLC but this might be nice too.

I always find Britain to rarely be worth it. Naval warfare is such a pain.

Paradox is streaming info about the new DLC on Twitch.
It is called El Dorado and will be focussed on Middle/South America and expanded Native American gameplay (including human sacrifices)
The Inca and Aztec have their own religions, rather than all the Native Americans being Animist
And there is going to be a nation designer!

If you have Sunset Invasion, leave them to your pagan friends from across the sea. Scandinavia, perhaps? Isn't as fractured as the former two but still. Without SI, Iberia.

Wait, you can draw new borders from the start?
They did not show how the designer works in the stream but it might be possible..
The official description of the nation designer on the Paradox website:
"The centerpiece of El Dorado is the Nation Designer, a tool that let’s you customize your starting nation in a campaign. Choose your starting capital and neighboring provinces, modify your starting culture and leader and then lead this new nation to new and original heights of glory. The infinite replayability of EU4 has just gotten even more infinite, if that’s possible (the company mathematician is still on holiday)."
If you can make your own borders and pick your captial you can create an amazing start

I don't have SI on for this playthrough, I use it only when playing as Rome or Vikings
Then it looks like the Kaiser should enjoy some Aragonese cuisine next.

my religiously fanatical Kaiser died at 46 from stress, now his unpopular 13 year old boy has become the ruler of the most powerful empire in Europe since Rome fell, may God have mercy upon him, for his vassals certainly won't
