It's a pitched battle so far but because my character died and my heir was underaged, my vassals walked all over my Regent to get the high crown authority I worked so hard for taken down. well war broke out, but before anything could really happen I killed the Khagan of the Timurids in combat and captured his son in the same battle ending the war before it really started.

 

However, their numbers were relatively unscathed and I'm waiting for them to try again, hopefully before the clock runs out

I think this has been my longest game, I usually lose interest after the first century. France has changed hands every century with the Capets losing in a crusade called by the pope to cleanse the kingdom of cathar heresy. A cadet branch of the de normandies took the throne, lost it in marriage to castille, and a hundred years later the de normandies are once again in charge.

 

Germania collapsed rather quickly after I conquered northern italy. Polotsk is ruled by distant relatives and has grown into the strongest power in Russia despite very minimal aid from me. The Golden Horde converted to Nestorianism very quickly, much to my relief, and the Ilkhanate was destroyed from within by their muslim vassals, after I eradicated their great armies in Syria.

Very different Desert borders you have in middle east and North Africa. I confess I didn't find conquering the region between Iraq and Israel useful and didn't do it (as Persia). That region being empty is a good idea.

Yep, It's a great overall enhancement mod. It still leads to some wonky borders but at least you won't have the greeks conquering georgia and expanding north of the black sea. I also find the duller colors easier on the eyes, everything in the vanilla game is way too bright for my taste.

Also does HIP remove illogical sea expansion (HRE in British Isles) or was that already fixed?

I'm gonna give HIP a spin, but not the new map sadly since it can't be exported to EUIV as of yet

so, i decided to start over after the patch because i wanted to see what the other empires could do from the start if they werent gimped, anyway, so far i've gotten back to where i was before starting over (i posted a screenshot a couple of pages back) Next step is Mesopotamia and Persia so i can get in diplomatic range of India, after that ill just sit on my ass until the hordes start arriving.

 

i already have a pretty good idea about how i want my game to end before exporting - Mongols in Cumania, Perm and Turkestan, Aztecs in Britain, Timurids in Arabia and me in the middle

India is very resourceful.

For middle east I have direct rule over Isfahan, Hamadan, Debul, Constantinople, one in Georgia, one in Crimea, and others are not permanent to slowly build the empire infrastructures.

welp, i just helped one of my courtiers to take over the Abbasid Empire, i usually dont involve myself in stuff like that but the reason the guy was in my court in the first place is that his brother is a major psychopath (i mean the guy has cruel, impaler and lunatic as traits and executed his own mother), so i took the Varangian Guard and laid down the law

I'm not sure about that. I usually go out of my way with console commands to fix up borders when I'm not feeling too lazy.

 

The only way I see the HRE getting anything in the Isles is because of inheritance shenanigans. Before HIP was updated I played CK2plus briefly and the borders were more or less static, it was a pleasant surprise to not see the world turn into a gigantic mess.

One thing I don't particularly like about HIP is how easy Primogeniture is to get, especially for parts of the world that didn't use it like Germany or Spain
