One thing I like about HIP over CK2+ is the ability to toggle "lucky" rulers that have massively improved stats and buffs, bonuses to tax revenue, levies, and that sort of thing. It also lasts past the monarch death so its a good way to get blobs up. I especially like using it on people who normally don't do very well, ex. Kurds, the Shia Caliphate, Scotland, Basques, and so on.
Paradox Games, CK2, EUIV, etc...

Nah it's obviously a hilariously complicated scheme.
They're all secretly Zoroastrian and getting the Christians and Muslims to kill each other in Crusades and Jihads is their endgame.

hmm, i guess i can send both them and the Abbasids to India, i'll even let them keep the empires of Arabia and Hispania....and after 100 years Spain's only de jure lands will be in India ![]()

Anyone else get the bug where certain family crests aren't showing up correctly?
They had a recent patch that finally fixed them being black, except now the Karling's have a very bland coat of arms.
Help!

Probably won't go further with this Zunist game. Things got hairy several times due to Muslim invasions, massive revolts brought on by Ultimogeniture, and frequent religious uprisings, and the Hindu holy order, but the Giver of Justice prevailed. Afghanistan is absolutely horrible to travel through but boy does it chew up armies with attrition and I got lucky enough to find a brilliant strategist during a hunting event early on who I used to teach all the nobility, which resulted in great commanders for generations.
Took forever to get an Empire title since I ended up expanding both into Persia and Rajastan as opportunity allowed, so I ended up getting both around the same time during the reign of Shah Kakhan, the greatest Zunbil king. Fun fact, his wife is Seljuk's daughter. Kakhan is also the first Bedouin ruler I had. I really wish I had gone Bedouin sooner.

Well with the release of CK2+ I can start my playthroughs in earnest.
The first one I started is a Byzantine game in 1067 with a custom character. Beginning at war with the Seljuks I was able to crush them with my favorite bug/exploit where you land the character you replace and his levies are all his event troops/normal levies, so giving Romanos Diogenes a theme in Anatolia and I was able to raise another 20k troops. Following my crushing victory in Trebizond, I looked westward.
First up was a de jure war in Sicily to weaken the position of the Normans, then wars to make Serbia, Croatia, and Georgia my tributaries. This is also when I married my wife, a Doukas princess whose brothers eventually proved very disloyal. After removing them from power I am able to focus on the East again, with Georgia acknowledging my superiority and the Fatamids imploding rapidly I've made moves down to the coast and have just reclaimed Jerusalem.
Future goals are to march down the Tigris and Euphrates to gut the Seljuks.

Oh, wow. I've never actually played a custom character and didn't know this was possible. That's a heck of an exploit.

Started a game in the Warhammer mod. Nice and easy with a good but not great ruler. For three generations everything is nice and smooth, Kayhoss is denied, Order is maintained, yadda yadda.
Generation 4 sees my only heir go Slaaneshi, turn half the court into "Pets" and go on a reign of terror that only gets worse when she becomes a Daemon Prince.
Naturally I invaded those smug High Elves to celebrate.

The other game I started recently was a game as a Norse ruler in England as a custom character in the place of Hvitserk.
I started off by just conquering Northumbria, then pushing south into Merica and slight north into Scotland, and finally pressing a claim on land in Denmark. But I also made sure to make all the Christian lords nearby my tributaries to get the proper Danelaw feel. After that I crowned myself king of England and Denmark and was able to reform the faith.
