Actually, it is not as simple as that and doesn't really make sense, as seen in these tests.
Thanks for the info, Bioware at their finest.

Hehe, awesome as always. Thanks man!
What is the list of weapons then?
It looks like "charge based" automatics + Revenant (which slipped my mind even though I used it on TSol Saturday). The rest (including PPR) use charge for ROF bonus in the semantics of the weapon spreadsheet, not to be confused with the hot multiplier which some also have.
I am sure someone has tested it with Spitfire, but I would expect it to work.
Don't know if Revi's movement penalty has something to do with it getting an exception.

Why does the GPR get an exception too though? It just seems random.
I don't know. Looks like I might test most of these myself.
FWIW, Spitfire does increase ROF under MM according to a test I just ran. Comparing ammo counts though, so it has some uncertainty. But it jumped from right under 600rpm (over 20 shots) to ~857. Obviously that isn't really 50%. Tested on Bronze, which should be in "real time" instead of accelerated time. I only captured at 30fps (resolving power for high ROF isn't great).
edit: works for GPR.
Ok I guess it just works for whatever autos Bioware wanted.
As far as I can tell, it works for ramp up guns.
The thing about the Revenant and GPR is that, according to the code, they are ramp up guns.
Only we never would have noticed the Revenant because its' min and max RoF are the exact same. It's likely that BioWare wanted it to have a ramp up effect but changed their mind.
GPR I'll have to check. It's supposed to be ramping up from 650 RPM to 900 over 0.25 seconds.

Here's the list of automatics that seemed to gain ROF instantly from Marksman:
Spitfire
GPR
Revenant
Striker
Typhoon
Black Widow (its an auto...)
GPSMG
Reegar*
Automatics with no change
Avenger
Phaeston
CAR
PPR (I could not find a change in ROF... unless you let off trigger, or hit marksman before firing)
Harrier
Lancer
Adas
Indra
CSR
Hurricane
Tempest
Locust
CSMG
Punisher
Eagle
Scimitar
Piranha
Recorded and used ammo consumption time over 20 shots for most (10 in some cases). This means there were a few confounding factors from a couple of the guns, and the resolution isn't great for perfect ROF calculation, but it is good enough to see the difference between base and +50% bonus from ROF MM on a Turian Soldier.
I am going to retest a few of these.
Automatics with no change
PPR (I could not find a change in ROF... unless you let off trigger, or hit marksman before firing)
So it appears I was correct at least in the time to empty the clip?
Suck it Dearbear. ![]()
I believe Typhoon will only acquire MM RoF if you engage MM before the RoF check, which happens ~0,5sec from when you start shooting. Anno said something like that if memory serves.
I can be wrong here though.
Now you are going to make me retest the Typhoon. I don't think it actually matters when you hit it, but I will take a look at that later.
edit: looking at the vid I recorded of it, I was hitting MM well after 0.5s and getting faster ROF.
ROF doesn't work with Typhoon since I have tried it and it does nothing since the gun needs to fire like 3 rounds and then it goes on full-auto. I don't think MM's ROF works with Typhoon.
Well you tell me. youtub processing may manipulate the timestamps a bit, but what I am going to put is from the virtualdub and the original file
So when ramped initially if you go from time 3.133 to 9.800 you consume 120rds (159 down to 29) which gives 1170 ammo/min or ~585 projectiles (due to Typhoon mechanics).
MM hit at ~10.100, ammo resets by 10.200
Then if you look from 10.733 to 15.733 you consume 140rds (162-22) which gives 1680 ammo/min or ~840 projectiles.
Like I said before, since this is captured at 30fps there isn't resolution to get perfect ROF with this method (nor does the game actually have perfect ROF anyway). But I think if you listen you can hear that the ROF jumps a little, and you can sort of tell watching the numbers go down.
And all this time I sometimes stopped firing typhoon on my turian soldier when turning Marskaman on to get more DPS when I started firing again. ![]()
Interesting question..I have no clue..never tried PPR on a marksman character..I imagine it doesnt speed up or all of BSN would be singing it's glorious tune...I have only tried PPR Destroyer once...devastator mode didnt increase rate of fire...never tried Collector Sniper Rifle on Destroyer or a marksman character...basically..I have nothing to offer

PPR does benefit from ROF bonuses, and it will gain under DM. It is just that it does not instantly gain if you hit MM in the middle of the stream.
Motion for BioWare to hire Cyonvi, Peddro, and Corlist to work on ME4MP.
So it appears I was correct at least in the time to empty the clip?
Suck it Dearbear.
I sure hope ME4's game mechanics are much more straightforward.
I was always hoping that devs would at least document their stuff.
Years after, still hoping.

You have zero experience with the IT industry, then?
Even if they did document stuff, there are things that never worked like they thought they did. Spitfire RoF, for example, or bugs like Paladin cryo shield and Shockwave radius.
+All the documentation might be in the original files, but not necessarily in the shipped ones.

It works just fine. Hitting Marksman anytime increases fire rate and accuracy.

In fact, we do produce software.
And yeah, nobody here cares to type a symbol more than it's absolutely needed ![]()
