So, after a few years i came back to nwn2. I installed the game and the mask expansion. Had to download patches manually from nwnvault since the updater didn't want to cooperate. When I finally opened the toolset, no matter what I did, I could not access Blueprints/Terrain tab. On the right side, where it should be, only 'properties' were present. That was yesterday. Today however when I wanted to launch the toolset, I found the files where gone from game directory - including NWNToolsetLanucher.exe.

I tried reinstalling the game and patching it again but it was futile - No 'blueprints' and files magically gone after restrating pc. Help please :c I've had so much trouble with this game that I would love to either get it working or give up on it altogether and move on. Any feedback appreciated, thanks.

Maybe it's a problem with the patches. What happens if you first try installing and running the unpatched version? Does that even work?

i remember some tips on manually patching the game:

install OC and MoTB and play for 5 or 10 minutes before patching

be positive that you are patching in the correct order, language, etc. - if ur not doing SoZ make sure not to patch for that expac.

or, without being wry - get the Gog version for $9.99 USD - its a long DL but once you buy it you can DL eternally to any PC you wish (or was that 10 times?) in either case you have the files to install - just back them up on a USB prior to the unplanned(?) crashing harddrive.

good luck.

I haven't heard of any 10 times limit.  As far as I know, you can download it as many times as you want as long as GOG is in business, but I would just download it once and record it onto a DVD for safekeeping, like I do with all of the custom content.

Maybe that was some other game site that once had NWN2 - there has been several over the years - but i dont think Gog is going anywhere since they are DRM free and not expensive at all :D

Oh, I don't think they're going out of business anytime soon, any more than Steam is.
