i think the new ps3 slim is the one most affecting this problem. because mine is 80 gb ps3 and the old ps3. but no problem, working smoothly and fine.

You are wrong, ps3 slim doesn't have problem at all (or marginally) the ones affected was most of ps3 fat models (not all models), you own one of the lucky ps3 fat console with no issues.

to people who lost trophy information try syncing your trophy, and for date and time fix just update through internet.... everything is fine so far, i have an old launch 60 gb ps3... but i'm still afraid to play any game right now..

I'll give that a try as well...

The problem regards the internal clock of PS3, the fact you cannot connect is a consequence not an issue.
Also systems that didn't ever get online had this issue, and if you have this issue you cannot even start some games (DAO is one of them)

cnet is reporting that their PS3s are working fine, with no save game corruptions or lost trophies. That's reassuring, at least. Same article I linked to before, if people want to actually read it for themselves.

PS Blog confirms that it was a bug relating to the way the internal clock processed leap years (facepalm). For folks who have disappearing trophies, they suggest you try to boot the game so that it'll reinstall trophy info, then resync your trophies from the XMB. A friend of mine had this happen with Dante's Inferno and he said it worked.

Well, I had no iodea there was a problem and played for a few hours last night!  Now I will be mad if it's screwed up.  I'm on Eastern time and played from 6:00 til about 8:00.  Why did't we get a warning???  I don't think i was connected to the internet at the time. Now I'm at work and can't check it, so i'll be worried all day!

Easy, Carol, no need to panic. The issue resolved itself last night, not sure when, but for me, at about 7:00-8:00 pm EST, my PS3 was fine, though earlier in the day it was not. If you're PS3 was operating the way it should when you played last night, then you're OK.

I think the main problem was if you didn't sync your trophies before this problem they would have all been lost, no way to recover them? i lost 4, and i can't seem to earn trophies anymore on dragon age ><"

I've seen some on these boards reporting they got their trophies back without any effort on their part. I don't know, as I don't care about trophies, so I haven't checked mine.

From another thread, for those of you who are having trouble get'n lost trophies from saved games, try playing offline, it worked for me
