Yes. I feel "CaRon Warden and Hawke" would be more appropriate.

Man, people really like to ignore the fact that Mike said that the Warden is not in that picture.

The only confirmed returning PC is Hawke.

 

And the title should really be edited to say canon Hawke since the Warden isn't in the picture posted. lol

Didn't he say it wasn't "Your Warden from Origins"? He never said it wasn't their canon warden.  Also, I do believe the question mark implies something being asked, or speculated and not confirmed. That is just my crazy assumption, however; please feel free to speculate on our speculation.

Well considering the canon Warden is dead (and a female elf, no less), I'd say its probably not her. lol. 

 

I just notice that pages of this thread are about "OMG THE WARDEN IS BACK!" when that isn't necessarily true. I mean, after revealing that Hawke indeed makes an appearance, I can see why others would be hopeful (and there is a chance that the Warden will return), but people are already talking like the Warden was confirmed as well. 

 

It was more my suggestion of helping clear up the misconception that the Warden was confirmed to be in game.

Their canon warden - default if you prefer- is a dalish who went US. Path of less interactions with the setting.

Mike Laidlaw has told us that we'll be able to customize any returning PCs. He's also said that the Warden in the image is not the DA:O Warden.

He said THE Warden is not in that picture. I've yet to read his saying that Gerod Caron, default human male Grey Warden Commander from Orlais, isn't.

Carver will always have black hair regardless of Hawke's appearance in DA:II.

But I think they may avoid the warden since (s)he was never really voiced, and they'd have to get another 4 VA (assuming they stick with two voices per race) to voice them.

To be fair, the Orlesian Warden Commander (the Warden-Commander) was never really fully voiced either, and not to mention you could also pick a race for your Orlesian Warden as well. I don't see a reason if they are going to include Orlesian Warden why exinclude the Warden if he/she still alive.

The canon warden from Origins is dead. The canon warden from Awakenings is not, afawk-- ergo, if canon warden from Origins is gone, the Orlesian warden would have taken over as Warden-Commander, in turn becoming the canon Warden from Awakenings. Maria is spot on.

No warden is confirmed, but neither are they dismissed, in fact, speculation is just oozing from the tweets. It makes sense that people are speculating on speculation.

If you did the DR, DAO warden and Awakening warden are the same person.

 

The thing is, people refer themselves to DAO when they think about "their warden", but in universe, the Warden-commander, Arl of Amaranthine, whether or not s/he is the Hero of Ferelden, is the one that matters.

As has been stated, Carver and Bethany's hair is always black.

 

Not to mention; that is the default Female Hawke we see in the trailer.  It stands to reason that we'd be seeing the default Carver as well, if it was him.

That isn't the canon for the comics. That's the default if you don't import anything from the Keep.

I hope that armor the MNW (Mysterious New Warden) is wearing isn't the new default warden armor for warriors. The DA2 armor looked more functional and just generally better.
