Bioware told us many, MANY times there is no canon for ME and DA. Only our choices + default for the lazies and new players

OF COURSE FOR THE LOVE OF MAKER WE CAN CHOOSE THEIR GENDER, RACE AND CLASS. WHY WOULD YOU THINK WE (players) WON'T? It's just illogical to even consider such an option

Appearance, though, may be set to default or random since the Keep doesn't allow us it. But appearance alone does not make anything more or less canon

This all I care about, having all 3 on screen together!? It'd be like if watching a movie with Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, and Jackie Chan. Oddly enough perfect analogues for the Warden, Inquisitior and Hawke when you think about it

If there's room for Hawke and the Warden in the Keep, be it just gender/race/class selection or complete customization, it's ok to see them in a trailer, because the Keep would reveal their presence in the game anyway.

 

But if they are not in the Keep... This was a gigantic spoiler...

 I believe we will be able to choose their class/gender (+ race for Warden) but after that it will be a canon non customisable appearance.

 

They have already confirmed no CC in the Keep i believe and i sincerely doubt that they will go in DAI "hey now you have finished the CC for your inq, here are 2 more cc's to design Warden and Hawke"

In the trailer it looks like they suddenly showed up to help with a fight. I don't think they'll have major roles. I'm more kind of surprised that they show up at all.

 

Think they were having so much fun together that they couldn't help with the actual process of saving the world? I don't buy it. I think they've been captured or kept somewhere, and we must have the opportunity to save them or... something...

This is a post I made before with some slight editing, I wanted people to see a point that I raised when it comes to the Warden's voice:
 

If that is the Warden and Hawke, I bet that we can customize them in the keep. If the Warden speaks they could let us choose our Warden's voice again, there was wise, cocky and a bunch of other voices to choose from in origins, all that Bioware has to do is get those voice actors back for Inquisition and speak the Warden's line and nothing about our Warden's would be compromised.

Please BW presets for those who just want to get on and play the game and full on customisation for those of us who need their previous PCs to look a certain way.

Well any doubts might be due to the canon treatment of Revan and Exile in the Old Republic. They were also previous player characters who mysteriously went missing and then returned in a later game. It wasn't handled well at all for me.

Not saying they won't have learn from that, but there is some reason to worry about "default" versions of player characters.

Suurree. They told us and let us to customise the world state in the Keep, including what our Wardens did, who romances and who they were and POOF

Changed them to some "canon" in the game

Pretty sure there is a canon. Unless you're telling me Loghian being part of Maric's rebellion is a rumor and Cullen was never in Kirkwall.

That is disappointing. I don't know much about the game development process, but I assume that voice acting is one of the first things done, so there's like no chance he'll end up getting called in to record if I am correct on that point. I suppose they could have ripped some of the generic audio from Origins and put it an appropriate situation, but I find that unlikely. Ah well, maybe they already had someone hired on who sounded really close/exact same?

This question is silly. Anyone thinking that Bioware for some strange reason would erase all our previous experience such as choosing gender, class and race of our warden is silly

Completely different situation. The rights to KOTOR were owned by Lucasarts, an entirely different company. They made those creative decisions, not Bioware.

Hawke has a 13 minute cameo where she does nothing but make snarky remarks while somehow letting lose an ancient evil, getting a bunch of templars possessed by demons, and destroying the Inquisition's accounting records. The Warden-Commander has a 15 minute cameo where he silently fixes all these things.
