It isn't about what armor my warden was wearing...

it was about what choices my warden made read that again...

Yes they showed middle finger to the players in daa but there you could still say that you will leave again after you solve this problem so as i said i hope they wond't do that again. They can leave them simple alone and player can came up what they are doing simple and easy solution that won't destroy massive amount of pc's just to get random character writen by bio.

I'm pretty sure that a whole new apocalypse and the wardens getting brainwashed or sth is a good reason for even the retired warden to get back to business at least until the crysis is resolved

As for clothes, welp, I can't imagine my Hawke wearing this terrible outfit but hey, I doubt they would let us choose armour as well

Confirmed we get to customize

Thank the Maker for small favors.

Much of my concern about having these characters appear in the first place was the fact that having their defaults be the only ones we get to see would annoy the living hell out of me to the point of ruining my enjoyment of the game. With this, I'd be very relieved. I'm always the skeptic, though, but now I'm cautiously optimistic.

It's spreading...the horror...

Why does the Warden standing next to Hawke have to be a Warden from Origins?

Isn't it more likely that it is a random Warden that has some importance to whatever leads up to Giant Spider Creature from hell (that is not from Dark Souls 2)?

It makes little sense story-wise, coolness-wise, etc-wise.

We have the PC of DA:I and DA2 together fighting some terryfing monster in the Fade... and some random Warden recruit

It would make sense if this warden was an old important character, but he isn't. It would make sense if it was a new important character, but if this was the case, Bioware would much more likely given him a unique appearance (a trait all unique NPCs possess). Neither face, nor hair... even armour is unique, it is blankish and default, even. Just like Hawke's

So yeah. It has to be something important enough to fight alongside the Inquisitor and the Hawke. And only the Warden fits this perfectly

I'm not saying this is the Warden from DA:A or that we'll see our Warden for sure. But I think so

Weird, but I was kinda panicing yet arguing with you and trying to defend my opinion calmed me since now I actually believe in my own words, heh

As i said besides we have skiped that the warden was blank character we had many fates for the warden and pretty much you don't need join grey wardens to save world .And for sake not destroying pc's personality i would suggest just not showing him/her and you can come up what s/he is doing off-screen as you do after dao.

It's just good to see protagonists from previous games still exist in the world and have a role in this game instead of being only mentioned in passing by.

It makes "sense" for the person to be "The Warden" if you look at it like that, but... (there is always a but)

Seeing as it is a trailer we have no context for why a random warden would be with the Inquisitor and Hawke about to fight DAI's version of The Duke's Dear Freja. There could be a valid reason for it being a random warden which will be revealed when we play the game.

As for the bolded/underlined part:

This is starting to become my catchphrase at this point.

It's confirmation bias.

Cameos likes this never say long enough to show any personality

In the canon, the warden did stay with wardens for quite some time. Players may prefer to leave, but our character didn't. DA:A happened either way meaning we're still the Commander of the Grey

Nope. That makes no sense. Show Hawke - show Warden. Make all three protagonists fight together against some boss and let the cameos leave after. Perfect scene for perfect hype and fanservice

Dang, I would but the game just to see it myself

Facepalm you just ignored everything i wrote to you... so lets repeat

First they already said if they bring them it won't be simple cameo...

Second no we could say that by selecting by what we are expressing our character opinion/views/plans/personality so if my warden tells he hate mages he hate mages besides there is no information that warden stayed with wardens pretty much you could crush that theory in daa.

That leliana is in the game doesn't mean zevran have to be in the game simple that inq meet hawke doesn't have mean that inq or any other protagonist have meet every other protagonist of the series.

We're in the Fade, it seems. Normal Wardens don't deal with the Fade, only darkspawn. Unless this is Corypheus and this one "random" warden is helping us. Otherwise it makes even less sense. Only our Wardens from DA:O/DA:A were unlucky enough to get stuck in the Fade and fight some monsters on a daily basis

'Sides. Three PCs from all DA games together, against Big Boss in an epic fight... For Bioware to miss a chance to have such a awesome quest is simply unbelievable

I also find it strange that no one has yet appeared and said: "Nope, no Warden in DA:I". We already know Hawke will be in the game, so what's the point of a mystery? Just tell us already if the Warden isn't coming back. Yet they keep silent, for now, and it is suspicious

Yeah, yeah it is. But I still think I have enough - eeeh... logical... proof... no... hints? whatever - to consider such possibility possible

It's a nice touch to have all PC's joining together, but again there are still other explanations for what is occurring in that scene.

As for the bolded point I feel the need to reiterate this statement.

I have never claimed the Warden is not in DAI. It may be unlikely do to the whole voicing thing, but that may not stop BioWare from enraging their fans (sometimes they don't even have to try) by adding him/her.

I have claimed that the warden next to Hawke is not from Origins.

Anyways, my insomnia is finally passing so I will be going to sleep.

You gave pretty much no proof but "but mah headcanons!"

A simple cameo is a character appearing in one scene, saying hello and walking away like Lelianna and Taegan did in MoTA

A big cameo is a character helping our PC to solve some big problem. Like killing a terrible, giant demonic thing

We did when we played as them. Now we won't, and since Bioware probably wouldn't try to mess with our experiences, the dialogues will be as neutral and short as possible

DA:A happened. If the Warden is alive, she/he became a commander of the grey. And that's it

If Hawke can be added, so can be Warden. There is pretty much no real reason why not - it's a big piece of fanservice lots of fans will swallow and digest with joy, it can easily be added into story even with some stretching, the game engine allows it. So why the **** no?

God you don't get it do you?

Lest start simple

That was no about "simple" or "big" cameo (there is not even such thing) they said they won't be cameo only have important roles if they will be in the game not as cameo devs said that (god help me...).

No we created character so no if you placed nice guy you warden don't become jerkass after 1 minute when you finished game... simple you created character in-universe.

Ohh god everything i say to you is like talking to the wall did i said you can say you will leave in daa?

As i said it will ruin many wardens that players created and i won't repeat 1000 times why you have above if you don't try get what im saying it isn't my problem...

jeez stop bitching for a moment would you? you can create your own warden again like Mike laidaw said and they would be careful when they show him again (regarding different personalities) BUT why would they respect your headcanon this is an on going game series the world of DA moves on and so old characters (and in this case old protagonist) returning is plausible they aren just killed of after you complete a game

damm...what a buzzkill

I know most people are excited for this idea of hawke and the warden returning

I went from  OMG OMG OMG! to Oh, I see, I suppose that's cool. As I have never played DA2 because of the lack of race choice and the discussion of monotonous dungeon crawling, I feel indifferent to this, as I have no connection to Hawke at all. I've seen the game played on Youtube, simply to see the story line, but, as I didn't play it myself, I feel nothing for Hawke. Being able to customize a character I don't really feel is like being able to design one random NPC just for the heck of it, it's neat, but it doesn't touch me deeply by any means. I hope that at minimum there is some discussion of my warden that will be queenish/princess consort in the world state I choose (hopefully), so that I can see a lasting affect of making that choice. Otherwise, I go into DA:I as an entirely separate storyline, with familiar characters, but nothing that connects them to the story. I mean Varric is a new character for me, as I never got to experience him, so I come into meeting him with no opinions. Established characters like Leliana and Cullen though, would have known my warden so I have hope that they make note of them in a world statey kind of way, ie. She and Alistair have been great rulers, or I miss the time I spent traveling with him/her alone, etc. This is what I would like, subtle references that imply lasting effects of my actions. Though I'd love, love, LOVE to be able to see my warden Fionna kicking some demon booty by my side, I suppose that's a little much to hope for.

"IF" huh?  I find that plus the video a very interesting combination.

Personally, I deeply, deeply disliked having Revan appear in SW : TOR, but Lucas Arts is very insistent on having The One True Canon (or at least, they were), so the same factors that drove Revan being in that game may well not apply here.   I didn't play DA2 for more than maybe 1/2 through part 1, so I don't feel strongly about that character.  I do feel strongly about my Warden, however, and hope IF The Warden REALLY appears (rather than just being - say - Fade apparitions or something) , the appearance will be extremely short very little/no talking.

If they do appear, they can be somehow customized, so that's good.

We'll see.  I find the super excitement about them being in the game baffling, but lots of people like things I don't like, so no biggie.  I'll stay with cautious ambivalence on this matter.  Heh.

That guy next to Hawke looks like the teenage son of Alistair. When I first saw it I thought it was him, but when they zoom into his face he looks really young? Like his voice is still in the process of breaking. Just me? Probably just me.

So excited about rebuilding my Hawke! Such a character creation junkie. This excites me beyond belief! I can makes inquisitors and Hawke! And if the warden shows up as well? Oh my. Being able to rebuild, particularly my dalish warden, in these graphics. Humanah. Although I would imagine it would be hard to bring them in and pick a voice/personality for them without stepping on a few toes.

Unless they just stood quietly in the corner and nodded.

Hah.

Man I'm excited.

Right after this shot, a giant dragon's foot slams down on the two, turning them into heroic jelly.

David Gaider's booming voice fills the air, "There's your damned closure!"

I just laughed so loud at this, I actually woke up my son.

You are a delight Maria.
