It's been around 10 years, she might have had a child (depending on your game) and yet she's wearing the exact same outfit she wore in DA:O? They could have at least used her Sacred Ashes trailer outfit or something...its so unrealistic that she would only own and wear one....thing....in her entire life. Well, besides her quite fancy dress...and I don't know if its because its alpha, but her outfit literally looks like it has no textures on it either.

Perhaps it was a placeholder outfit and she will get a different one in the game but...I think its rather lazy if it remains the same. She's supposed to be a huge part of the game and they couldn't give her a unique new outfit? 8I

It's called an iconic look. Intriguing puzzle to crack, I'm sure, but there it is laid out on the table for ya.

I'm hoping at some point the Western developers manage to take notice their Eastern counterparts have cracked the next even more intriguing puzzle -- having characters that stay recognizable despite sporting more than one outfit per game.

Shouldn't take more than another 10 years. Why, even DAI supposedly starts to dabble with that.

Let's cut out the unnecessary condescension, shall we.

If these clothes last I may do the same thing. hahaha

I do, in fact, still own (and wear) clothes from 10 years ago.

One of them is a surprisingly well made Half-Life 2 Collector's Edition t-shirt that still fits and is still in decent shape despite being a regular occurrence in my wardrobe for the past 10 years.

Yes, but you're a man who is talking about a t-shirt. We are talking about a woman who is sporting the same string bikini - and I can promise you, string bikini tops don't last nearly that long.

I think you're giving my answer a bit more thought that it really warrants.  If your issue is you don't like Morrigan's outfit because of its problematic reasons, then that she still wears the same basic outfit for 10 years is a red herring and irrelevant to your concerns.  Your issue is you find Morrigan's clothes objectifying and degrading.  That issue exists regardless of the age of her outfit.  I'm a man with at tshirt yes, but given your promise I disagree and substantiate it with anecdotes from people I asked.  So we're at an impasse here.

Here's what giving her her outfit does: it shows the player in a quick snippet, in no uncertain terms, that it's Morrigan.  And she's taking an active part in a trailer that for the most part is narrated by some adversary to the player/Inquisitor.  In other words, she has more than just a passing presence in the game.

Based on this, I'm closing the thread.  It is what it is and I don't see anything new being brought to the table but I do foresee the thread getting increasingly polarizing if it stays open.
