Back to the Future Flemeth would be awesome.

And time travel and time paradoxes are rare in fantasy settings. I think the Kain series, Chrono Trigger, and New Adventures of the Time Machine are the only fantasy video games I recall seeing it in.

Prince of Persia as well, but definitely rare.

Let's cut out the unnecessary condescension, shall we.

Fair enough, I'd just note that was largely reaction to how I read the tone of the post I was replying to.

I want the scene where DAI Flemeth is in the background while DAO Flemeth is on stage playing Johnny be Good at the Landsmeet.

Bioware would make that happen, you be careful

Woah this thread exploded while I was asleep/at work.

First off, I didn't mean any rudeness or disrespect to the devs if it came off that way... It was around 6 am when I made the topic haha; also I read through most of the responses and agree with some of them.
However, just because her outfit is iconic, doesn't mean it shouldnt change at all. I think someone may have mentioned Link and his outfit. At the core it stays the same , yet details are adjusted and updated. Morrigan's outfit could have easily still retained pieces of her origins one with updated details or parts. Sinc she is more rugged, I could see it having new patches or fabric sewn onto it from wear if that was indeed an outfit she constantly wore.

Morrigan is on of my all time favorite companions and the LI for my canon warden, with both Leliana and Cullen returning in new get ups and being easily recongnizable, it's a bit sad that Morrigan did not receive the same treatment wth her traveling one. I do however lover her new head morph and Orlesian ball gown. It would have been really interesting to see maybe some Orlesian influence in her traveling outfit as well from her extensive time spent there recently.

Ah well, if it's her outfit in the final game I'll be disappointed but I'm sure saving the world from the elder one will distract me enough. X'D

She has changed. Didn't you write that she will not be the same person earlier? People change their clothing when they grow up. She doesn't have to go into the Flemeth/Yavana look, but she should have different tastes regardless of how people recognise the Origins clothing for Morrigan.

Not necessarily. Four decades down the line and the only difference is that I have given up a distressing trend to wear cord trousers.Good taste runs in the family, but I wasn't fast enough to catch it.

Older video:

BSN: Why does Morrigan look so different? She looks older and those clothes are stupid!

New video:
BSN: Why does Morrigan look the same? They should change her clothes! It looks stupid.

U so cray, BSN.

Joking aside, she looks gorgeous and she can dress like a court jester, just as long as I can hear Claudia Black.

Well its now a vile shade of pink instead of the deep red it used to be so there's that.

Yeah I was going to say that, this one definitely has more of a pink tinge to it. So you see, not the same, she went for a different colour scheme this time round lol.

Pallet swaps are the epitome of lazy design.

I just don't get the jumping to "she hasn't changed as is only in that one outfit" conclusion people are drawing from maybe 2 seconds in that trailer. Since she as already been shown in something else,BioWare is dabbling in that (to the point that was maybe the first bit of information that came out about this game so many years ago) and it could very well be she shows up to do battle and says something like "well its been years since I put this on."

That's a cool chart! Though for the most part his outfits look very similar as Morrigan's DA:I and DA:O outfits do(with only minor changes).

The take-away: complainers be complainin'. One would think though that Morrigan would choose an outfit a little less airy than those old rags if she's hanging out in the Frostbacks with the inquisitor.

It kind of makes sense, if these are her most powerful robes (i.e. the one you give her from Flemeth, I mean. Robes of Posession).

I was kind of hoping they would give her the hood from the concept art since she IS wearing it in DAH....

(and I have the mod for it...hehehehe)

It's one of the conceits of fiction in the visual medium.

Important characters must have identifiable iconic looks so that they are immediately visually identifiable.

Notice how Superman has worn the same suit for 70+years.

She could probably remain iconic with the same maroon and black colors.. I don't think the exact outfit matters.

That said, it's still a cool look.

Gonna repost it because I like that chart: except when he didn't (and that's just the movies)

Her outfit is the only set of magical clothing she owns. You know, the kind of clothing that can vanish when she changes form, then re-appear when she's human again? Do you think outfits like that can be bought from a local tailor?

Well, she hung out with my warden in the Frostback Mountains wearing the same robes and she seemed to muster through it. Enchantment!

and that's 70+ years of iterations and different media. Not to mention other settings and other media because I see several that are out of DC animated universe.

Don't get hung up on the analogy being about Superman but what he was trying to say.

Also in the latest iteration they have done away with the red undies which coincides or is very close to when DC comics did the latest reboot.
