Morrigan's robes are more a reflection on her personality then anything else. Which is "Your opinions matter not to me."

Morrigan was actually pretty vain, although she tried to hide it. There's a reason she loved getting jewelry as gifts and was so fascinated by the beautiful rich girl with lots of shiny stuff. And yet she would continue to wear rags of more than a decade old? She could have kept the necklace to have something familiar pop out, or use the same color scheme for her new clothes, but the exact same outfit is just silly. Mass Effect changed the outfits of squad mates with every installment as well and yet they were still "iconic" and could not be mistaken for somebody else. I still recognized Liara without her scientist outfit, and Garrus even after Bioware gave him a rocket to the face.

Yes, but you're a man who is talking about a t-shirt. We are talking about a woman who is sporting the same string bikini - and I can promise you, string bikini tops don't last nearly that long.

I think you're giving my answer a bit more thought that it really warrants.  If your issue is you don't like Morrigan's outfit because of its problematic reasons, then that she still wears the same basic outfit for 10 years is a red herring and irrelevant to your concerns.  Your issue is you find Morrigan's clothes objectifying and degrading.  That issue exists regardless of the age of her outfit.  I'm a man with at tshirt yes, but given your promise I disagree and substantiate it with anecdotes from people I asked.  So we're at an impasse here.

Here's what giving her her outfit does: it shows the player in a quick snippet, in no uncertain terms, that it's Morrigan.  And she's taking an active part in a trailer that for the most part is narrated by some adversary to the player/Inquisitor.  In other words, she has more than just a passing presence in the game.

Based on this, I'm closing the thread.  It is what it is and I don't see anything new being brought to the table but I do foresee the thread getting increasingly polarizing if it stays open.
