Yeah, it definitely has to be the Orlesain Warden from Awakening. I mean, they wouldn't just put a random Warden with two of the series' biggest heroes.

But, the 'Awakening' Warden is MY Warden from Origin's

If I cannot create my male warrior, asian-featured influenced Hawke from DA2 then I'm 'OUT'  .

 
Chillex, I too want to customise my Hawke / Warden, bet you Bioware would have investigated this option until they deemed it impossible. Having said that Mike did say (twitter) that if they bring our PC's back from previous game's then there is a chance they can be sort of customizable .. or something like that, will find the tweet.

So when YOu play the game, it WILL be the Warden from Origins. In the trailer, it's likely that it is not due to Bioware's canon.

I just saw that! That's awesome! Someone should ask him about the possibility of the Warden in the trailer being the Orlesian Warden from Awakening that you play as if the Hero of Feredeln died.

Omfg, I'm so ecstatic right now.Going to be hard to get Hawke looking exactly like he used to though. This game feels like a finale, yet it isn't promoted as one.

I'm holding my breath at the moment, of course I'd like my Warden to return but Hawke seemed far more likely from the very beginning. As a side-note I'm pretty certain Fenris will be returning as will maybe all the romances from DAII seeing as all from 'Origins' are apart from Zevran.

It does seem weird to have a fairly random Warden among tho protagonists. Perhaps regardless the Warden from 'Origins' is dead now no matter how they turned out and the Warden alongside the protagonists will either have to be the 'Warden-Commander' be it one from 'Awakening' or a entirely new one after you disappeared/died.

Kinda hoping the Warden turns up, but I figure that's just to much of a pain for Bioware. I wouldn't blame them if they just decided to leave him/her off screen. Or maybe he gets his/her throat cut, so no longer has a voice! Sorted!

I think Patrick Weekes said it was the Awakening Warden in a super indirect way.

 

Which would mean that if your Origins/Awakening Warden was the same guy then you've got them all.

 

But I'm unsure of what exactly their messaging is on this.

If the Warden also ends up in the game there is a good chance he/she will still be a mute. One reason being that they would probably need two voice actors per gender as they are doing with the Inquisitor (a dwarf Warden with an English accent would be rather odd). Another reason being how many seem to hate the idea of the warden all of the sudden being able to talk in a voice they never imagined for their character. I can easily see Bioware wanting to avoid the flames that come with a "badly" chosen voice over.

It has to be the Orlesian Warden. Like you said, I doubt they would put a random guy with two of the series Protagonists. If they did, a shitstorm would ensue. Your Warden will most likely take that guy's place, but I don't know why they won't just tell us who that is.

The Hawke they showed is a Mage.  Could be the Warden beside her is Carver.

 

I'm also well aware that Carver is not guaranteed to be a Warden, or even alive, but it's also possible for Hawke to be male.  We have no clue about how this scene came to be, and they threw a generic Warden in there to throw off the players and allow for mass speculation because we know how much BioWare loves speculation.

If it's their Orlesian Warden it means it's our Origins Warden.  I'm not buying into that.  As I said they made the Warden so generic looking to throw us all into a speculation frenzy.

 

I want that Warden to be Carver if only because that means in my game it will be Bethany, and I love Bethany.

They rly could tell us whether the warden will be in the game or not so at least i could change on US to avoid character breaker...

I kind of hope that moment is the introduction to them.  They just run up as a battle is about to start

Not really.  If you do the Ultimate Sacrifice with your Origins Warden and had that imported instead of playing DA:A then you'll get this Orlesian Warden by default is my guess.  If you played DA:A, then your Ultimate Sacrifice choice is retconned into some other choice that gets your warden to survive.

 

I'm thinking they just showed the default world state characters shown which make sense.  Wasn't it the DA2 world state in DA:I a mage Hawke who sided with the mages?  And wasn't the DA:O world state in DA:I a Dalish Warden who did the Ultimate Sacrifice?  If so, they could just be showing the default wold state characters so we'll just be seeing the Orlesian Warden and Hawke.

Yeah, I'm doubting that is Carver as well.  They wouldn't do something that crazy to make him look too different from his DA2 appearance especially when Fem Hawke still looks similar to what she looked like in DA2.
