*sigh* was such a fantastic trailer until Hawke showed up....
I guarantee it's the Orlesian Warden. In his tweet Mark Laidlaw says it not "the" Warden, which is what the Hero of Ferelden is referred to as, whereas the Orlesian Warden is usually referred to as the Warden Commander and such more so.
In my world there wasn't an Orlesian Warden.
WHAT THEN MARK?
Goddammit what a stupid part of the trailer that is if it isn't a live DAO linked Warden. "Hey look, here is a shot with Hawke, the Inquisitor and a Warden-Totally-Not-DAO-Warden!"
Stop saying that The Warden does not have voice :/ it hasss!!!! Well you know when you picking warden's voice in origins and then when you keep clicking and clicking she/he talks. Well in Dragon keep you can pick those old voice sets along with new engine looks and now we can choose races too! They maybe could reuse it with cutting editing with warden doing one liners but Hawke to be more of a talker ofc... if this scene with big ugly beast is only where Warden actually appears with Hawke ![]()
ETC ETC...there is more if it...now don't tell me they can't do something about it?....just remember the guy from youtube who did similar thing but with other chars I think it called wanderers of thedas and it was quite good...
Nah, I don't think cutting and editing the old voice sets is going to cut it if the warden commander make his/her appearance.. It will blend and lazy work. I prefer the wc to be out of the game rather than have a robotic mess..
If they do include the wc. They could use the set for his/her personality. Experienced and violent will result in aggressive warden. Wise and mystical warden will result in diplomatic warden. Sultry and cocky will yield humorous/amorous warden. Then a voice-actor act accordingly..

You are probably right, but then it just seems like odd wording by Laidlaw because the Warden Commander could be The Warden. Unless there will be a different plot for The Warden and the Warden Commander. Otherwise, it seems like a purposefully misleading comment. Not maliciously so, just confusingly so. Why not just say, "The one that you are looking at is not The Warden, but it's the Warden Commander in this particular playthrough." While they are different characters, they serve the same function once DA: A starts. And, the Warden Commander IS our Warden, even if s/he isn't The Warden, because we still control him/her for 20+ hours. It seems like an odd distinction to make if it's the Warden Commander.

I wonder how long their appearance is and if we can have Varric along when they do.
Or have Morrigan/Leliana along if/when the Warden does.
IF the Warden is in, I wonder how they'll handle the Dual Wielding Warrior types from Origins since it's been confirmed that they won't in the game. Will the Warden wield a single sword? Or have two daggers? or something.

I hope that Hawke's love interest appears with him.

Hope so. That'd make the cameo totally worth it.

I'm quite confident we can customize the warden class and the skill points will be reset. So.. Any dual wielding or archer warrior will be reset to default warrior. Most likely 2hd warrior.

I want thier appearance to be long.. But we must not forget that this is the Inquisition.. The Inquisitor is supposed to be the hero in the spotlight this time.. HoF and CoK at the same time.. It might overshadow the Inquisitor.. So probably not too big
I wonder if they will account for specializations the Warden and Hawke could have?
Probably not, but it would be cool

They probably won't

You probably don't get to select what weapons and specs they used in DA:O and DA:A is my guess. You probably just get to select the Warden's gender, race, class, and appearance and with Hawke, you just select the same things except for race.
I'm happy Hawke's in the game, been hoping for it ever since they announced DA:I. I'm optimistic that with a character creator popping up, using the data of what choices I made in DA2, and having a dominant tone matching what was in DA2, I won't be disappointed at all.
Warden's a bit tougher - I don't think voice actors will bother me as much as they bother some people, but I also don't think DA:O decisions are as cut and dry as DA2 in forming a world view for the Warden (there's no clear pro/anti mage choice, for instance - my Warden definatly was not pro-templar, I just happened to side with the templars cos I forgot to use the Litany). So depending on how long the Warden showed up for, and what he/she did during that cameo, they may have to have us enter a fair amount of info to have any chance at getting it right.
Tho now that people have mentioned class and spec, I think I would actually be pretty annoyed if my mage Hawke showed up and started using a bunch of spells I never took. I guess she had time to grow between games, but it would annoy me.
I just want the Warden, Hawke, and the Inquisitor to go on an adventure and be snarky. With Varric narrating the adventure, and Hawke asking him to stop in an angry aside to the dwarf.
Yeah It became the best trailer of the year!
No. Hawke is something I did not want at all in this game, same with the Warden. This is thew first thing I'm 100% disappointed with in DAI.

Why is Hawke and the Warden getting involved a disappointment? In the time Inquisition takes place in it would be weird that Hawke and the Warden weren't going to get involved in some way and cross paths with the Inquisition. In any case, I'm sure it won't be that bad.

Because they will be OOC, they won't look like my warden and Hawke, they will overshadow the Inquisitor and for always going on on how DA is focused on the world, Bioware sure loves to throw old characters into new stories instead of making new characters.
Just look at the reactions to the trailer, most people are talking about Hawke, not alot of people are talking about the elder one or the fact that there was a Inquisitor doopleganger, majority of conversation is on Hawke. This is telling.

I'm pretty sure the whole game will be focused on the Inquisitor and his/her quest, and our previous protagonists won't overshadow the Inquisitor that much. We don't know anything about the scene in the trailer they appear at all, and that could be at near-ending or final boss fight. Beside there are plenty of new characters in this game already, I'd rather see BioWare include Hawke/the Warden/Orlesian Warden-Commander for story's sake than a large amount of npcs/companions from the previous game. It also will leave a plot hole on their disappearance, and leave previous protagonist's story without a closure if they simply discard them.
While the talking about returning of previous characters seems to overshadow other topic, but I see a fair amount of people discussing about the Elder One or other things. I'm pretty sure when you play DA:I you would spend a time worry about the other things like who's behind all this, who's the big bad rather than my previous protagonist will overshadow the Inquisitor. Just saying.
Because they will be OOC
We have no idea what capacity they'll even be in the game at this point, so I'd say it's a little hasty to be jumping to that conclusion. They could be on and off the screen fast enough that they don't have time to be OOC for all we know.
they won't look like my warden and Hawke,
They've said we can customize returning characters.

Perhaps, though once again, we don't know anything about how they tie in. Overshadowing the Inquisitor for for 10 minutes of a 150 hour game doesn't seem too bad to me.
