3 character creators screens when starting to play!
First Warden,second Hawke,third Inquisitor,then game begins. :P

I would spend upwards to 40 hours not moving from character creation screen if this is the case.

I swear I have always spent an eternity for stuff like this in games that allow character creation screen.

Chargen is one of the best if not THE best part of a game, for me.  I can spend days in a character generator with deep customization.  I probably spend as many hours total making characters as I do playing a game's campaign.

Gimmie chargen for Inquisitor, Hawke, and Hero of Ferelden.

I actually love my Hawke more then Warden I have seen a plank of wood with more expressive ability then The Warden at least Hawke actually moves their lips when talking to companions instead of the "blank motionless 1000yrd the lights are on but nobody's home Telepathy FTW" stare

The Warden was much more player-defined than Hawke was. Where you saw no personality, I saw the ability to fill in his/her blanks with whatever personality I wished, rather than Hawke's three preset personalities that all had little say from me.

I much prefer it the Warden's way, but evidently some people can't approach characters like that the way I can.

Maybe people actually see it that way, but prefer to actually see the emotional results

I didn't know an interesting character is defined by how much he can move their lips. Just because you have a voice in the game doesn't suddenly mean they're interesting. Then again I grew up playing Pokemon and Legend of Zelda so I'm used to silent main characters.

I like Hawke enough but The Grey Warden has much more replay value so I'm more excited to see how Bioware will tackle it in Inquisition than Hawke who has the same origin (Noble kid from Lothering), the same ending (Ditches Kirkwall) and has 3 different ways of talking to people at best.

Because last time I checked if your having a conversation with someone your lips move and sound comes out you don't communicate by telepathy, and each time in DAO you have to pick a response you sit there having to look at the Warden's face and his lips don't move once, it breaks the immersion because if his lips dont move and no sound comes out( ergo The Warden did not actually speak) then how the hell did Sten or anyone else know what the Warden said ? did they read his/her  blank stare ? did they count how many times the Warden blinks to divine an answer?.

Yet The Warden actually has a recorded voice that plays in battle under certain conditions like low health/mana etc, then during conversations the Warden is totally and utterly silent why ?

Hey, hey!

The Elven Bride was NOT cliche.

She was Uma Thurman in Westeros!

The presence of hawke and the warden leaves me concerned...

If they are more then just a cameo (as I hope), they'll have to act indipendently, and they migh behave or make choices that wouldn't be suited for the image the player has built in their imagination.

My warden was a mean and opportunist blood mage and chances are that he won't be portrayed as I wish he should...

The player might have the chance to control all of the three characters while in conversation, and that would be great but it seems unlikely.

I'm so very skeptical about this...

Lady Hawke is still fabulous as always, hope we can decide if Hawke is Goody-Goody, Witty, or Meanie-Meanie.

There HAS to be a scene where Varric tears up from seeing Hawke again.

It should be easy if they let you decide Hawke's personality from the 3 choices. Hawke is also pretty selfless when it comes to the greater good so it wont be surprising is Hawke is off helping against the veils in their own way when you aren't teaming up against Big Bads.

Besides, a lot of the planned Expansion for DA2 could be in this so Hawke will have things to do.

Who doesn't love the Warden more than Hawke?

Errr.. I love my Witty FemHawke a lot more than my Male Cousland Warden for sure. That voice is to die for.

I honestly hope their role is small since I intend to ignore what the game says and pretend Hawke and the Warden and the Inquisitor are all one guy.

He helped his family escape Amaranthine's Darkspawn after leaving the Wardens.

And yes, it makes no sense, but headcanon, man, headcanon!

:-)

I doubt Hawke will have a small role as Hawke is the Champion of Kirkwall and is hugely important to the Mage/Templar issue. Hawke also didn't get an Epilogue, the Warden did. What Hawke got was "To be continued..." and we know there WAS a canned DA2 Expansion and that some of the ideas did translate to DA:I so Hawke better play more than a few cameos in this.

CRAZY FAN THEORY TIME.

It may not be the best theory, but what if we are wrong. What if we don't meet Hawke in the middle of the game, but at the beginning. Cassandra said it herself at the end of DA2, that Hawke is the only one who can stop this war. So what if Hawke did, what if the Chantry found Hawke and brought them to the peace summit. Than at we as the Inquisitor see Hawke at the beginning and we know that they will die. What if.
As for the Grey Warden it could be just a representative to protect their mages from the Templars.

Ehhhhh it just a crazy theory anyway, but it will be kind of cool but whatever.

Just my opinion though, don't go spreading or anything

Very Very unlikely the fact that Hawke and the Inquisitor are about to face that creature( which might be a Harvester) makes it inherently obvious that its after the fade explosion at the peace gathering, sorry your just going to have to headcannon your desire to see Hawke Dead lol

I agree, but what about the warden? Will they set his personality as they deem fit? I wouldn't bear that. Oh no, I won't.

The Warden > Hawke. There's no debate.

The Warden killed/defeated 2 Pride Abominations (Uldred, the Baroness), 1 Pride Demon, 3 extremely powerful blood mages one of them a Magister (Caldrius), Gaxkang the Unbound, 3 High Dragons (one of them was Flemeth), 1 Varterral, the Queen of the Blackmarsh, the Archdemon Urthemiel, the Mother, the Harvester, and thousands of darkspawn. (Not counting diverging enemies like Caradin or Witherfang)

Hawke's killed Corypheus (tops his list), Xebenkeck, Maybe the Arishok, Maybe Danarius, 2 Varterrals, 1 High Dragon, Red Lyrium Meredith, Harvester Orsino, 1 High Dragon, 1 Pride Abomination (Marethari), and hundreds of demons.

Hawke's tough, but is not on the Warden's tier of badassery yet.

When you consider that the Warden accomplished all of this within the span of 2 years as opposed to 7 it makes the winner a clear case.

Does anyone know if Hawkes' V.A's are confirmed to be returning for DAI?

Hawke is running away from the Blight, while the Warden stays to rally everyone and defeat the Archdemon. Yeah...I know who's better since the beginning, and the mighty champion of Kirkwall wasn't even the person who starts something that ought to change the world since most of the time these events just caught up with him/her, and last I checked Hawke's goal was only to get rich and take care of his/her family.

Frankly I'd take that blank face but a room for more personality that make the Warden more of a unique character and closer to the human being, over a defined personality that makes Hawke super good all the time even to someone who's totally evil, Hawke that always cracks joke even at the most inappropriate time like Dumar's son dying, or Hawke that always angry and blunt all the time...those defined personality while many find it amusing it doesn't sound like a normal human being to me.

Warden is a Grey Warden. She has to face the Blight. Hawke wasn't even a warden (more like a civilian) and if she was, i can assure you she'd stay to face the Blight too.

Seriously though, I'm laughing. People are comparing warden and Hawke.... whom are different persons and have different stories. And they argue who's best and who's not.

I just don't know what else to say.
