Sacred Ashes Warden looked just fine actually. But looked old. Plus 10 years he wouldn't be fit enough to fight.

Let's hope Bioware this time doesn't think just because it's a 'new' game with a 'new' character it isn't the same story with same heroes. It's the same game and story, they ought to remember this and forget about new. Giving players the power to choose is nice but in the end the more you control your own story and have consistency in it the better.

I didn't see much wrinkles on Hawke's face in the trailer.  It's been 10 years for her too and she looks fine.

I wonder if the Warden is going to be near his calling.

10 years is about the time it starts on the short end of the scale.

Maybe a DLC for his Calling in which he kills all the remaining Old Gods?

It may depend on willpower and maybe Avernus' experiments. The Alchemical Concoction could hold back the corruption for all we know.

The fact that he killed an Archdemon should count as bonus, I'd say.

Or increase it, perhaps.

God it'll be sad to bring my Warden back just to die, though I'd understand if they did. One it's emotional and closure for Morrigan (if you romanced her) but it also allows Bioware to write them out of the story so they don't have to worry about bringing them back later.

Of course, you'd think they'd learn after Shepard.

Mm... I agree with some of your points, but this is glaringly not true.

First, Hawke went to that party for Tallis. Duke Prosper can actually point out that it's a bit of a surprise to have Hawke there, despite the invitation. Tallis showed up way before going to the party, and she tagged along after informing Hawke of her plans to steal the Heart of the Many. Which, at that point, was only a rare jewel for Hawke, not a secret that could endanger lots of lives.

Second, a holy war? Not even Tallis claims that and her superiors didn't care very much. The list was about spies, and in any conflict they are considered fair-game. Cold, but true. That's a spy's life. As for Hawke, one of the options is actually forgetting about Tallis and trying to get away. And that, at least, ended in failure.

Hawke received an initiation to go before Tallis even showed up, all they knew at the time was that it was a party they were invited to and didn't know about the Qunari stuff til Tallis tracks Hawke down after finding out that Hawke had received an invitation.

Maybe killing Warden in origins would be less painfull then. :P

Considering it was the player's decisionyes...if someone want to blame BioWare they can't because it's their own decision, but frankly should the Warden survives killing the Archdemon, the fate of your previous protagonists was left in the writer's hand after the Witch Hunt DLC or after the ending of DA: II.

So...Hawke is not safe from the writer decision either, and they might kill him/her in DA:I but it would be lame and just imagine the amount of backlash coming from both the Warden and Hawke's fan.

I think they will Kill off the warden, and not Hawke. hawke IMO i s much easier to deal with he/she has a voice and iconic armour.

I fail to see how that is a good reason to kill the Warden for story's sake, and being fully voiced or having iconic armour are not a protection against the writer's decision either. If they want to kill Hawke, they can simply do that. I don't want to see our previous protagonists, the Warden or Hawke returns only to get killed in DA:I, but I'm afraid their fate is in the writer's hand now. You can deny as you like but it won't change the fact, all we can do is hope the writer won't go down on that road.

I genuinely do think prior to any of their deaths all 3 will be together at least once. A few people love Hawke, a few people hate him because they didn't like the DAII game, therefore I feel Bioware are going to push Hawke far further into the series in order to establish his worth and purpose greater on into the series. Hawke imho, is safe. The Warden is going to die one way or another, I don't see the point in them dragging it out into another game as well as Morrigan. If the Warden is going out, now is honestly the best time for both the story and the fans.

Of course, the Warden's going to die one way or the other, so let's kill him/her, amiritefolks? I don't see the point in letting characters live if they aren't going to be in the next game.

Plus a death of the Warden on-screen is the only justifiable way out, to hear about it is just not right.

Or they could just not die. That could work too. They've got a good 20+ years worth of living to do, and even after that they don't "have to" die.

I'd prefer if they died happily ever after.

No longer relevant to Thedas politics after Awakening.

Yeah, my Warden had nothing but Morrigan left in the end. His mentality is basically "fight strong opponents, protect Morrigan and my child", everything else is lost.

The Warden doesn't have to die. The Architect can cure the taint. Avernus has made some breakthroughs too.

So what do you guys think Hawke will be up to in DA:I?

I mean we know that the story for the expansion got shifted into DA:I (at least some of it)

Maybe they actualy let Corypheus escape because they thought they could continue the story in the expansion?

And is anyone else hoping that we get to control our Hawke for some time (after we customized them again in the CC)?

Only way I would accept that would be having Hawke and/or Warden in our party, as follower for certain fight. Then we would be able to control them for a bit without getting rid of Inquisitor for some time, cause "story purpose". And when it comes to conversations? I think it would be more fun to just talk with Hawke as Inquisitor, rather than controlling Hawke for a bit. Why? Just imagine sarcastic Hawke leaving inquisitor speechless... I so wanna see that. :P

Or poor Cassandra. While she's in a party with Snarky Inquisitor, Varric and Sera while they chat to Snarky Hawke.
