The DA Keep FAQ has previously addressed the questions of 1) direct save game import into the Keep and 2) whether there is a character creator in the Keep. The answer to both questions is no.

 

Will we be able to direct import saves into the Keep?

Unfortunately we won’t be able to directly import saves.

Is there a character creator?

Sadly not. The Keep will attempt to recognize your Wardens and Hawkes from previous playthroughs so they can be reflected as part of your history, but you won’t be able to edit appearances or customize new characters, as that information is not carried forward to future titles.

So who's with me in really wanting the HoF/Warden in DA:I?

 

I'm hesitant, because the Warden would be a lot harder than Hawke to get right. 

 

But if I can customize her again and maybe fill out a few things for a bit of consistency, I'd be down. If Hawke's in I figure the Warden should be in too.

And I'd be lying if I said the thought of an Inquisitor/Warden/Hawke party for at least one quest doesn't make me slightly tingly. Hmmm...

Honestly I couldn't care less about the physical appearance of either Hawke or the Hero of Ferelden. I just want them to be there.

If in the trailer is an old god that is talking "the elder one" then you definatly need the warden

I can't see myself spending anymore than 30 seconds or so customizing the Warden and Hawke, I don't see them being around for much longer than a few minutes until they end up getting killed off so BioWare don't have to bother with them in future games.

I'll bet my boots that's the final battle, and the Warden, Hawke and the Inquisitor will make an final stand as a team against the big bad. If done right, that would be legendary.

I'm cool with the warden showing up again.

 

It doesn't really matter what they'll do with their personality, I'm very flexible when it comes to such things. Its nice that we can atleast customize their appearance.

 

And I hope for a reunion between the warden and their LI. Oooh! I wonder what Anora will say when she meets her husband again after such a long time

I agree with you, but at the same time I'd feel for the folks who want to bring back "their" Warden as best they can. 

 

Frankly, not being a fan of this bit of news at all, only "positive" thing I am taking away from the couple seconds of footage is this:

It seems to take place in the Fade from what one can tell, and thus may suggest a sort of "dreamscape"-kind of stage for the two to appear. Which could skirt around the lack of customisation for either with just basic things about Hawke and Warden considered - race, attitude in Hawke's case, etc.

 

I can't see it working well at all otherwise.

Because it's a matter of the developers taking our character out of our hands and dictating who the character will be, which is inevitably going to run counter to how many people shaped their person to be; there's also the Warden, who wasn't voiced, and the problematic issues that would arise with giving this person a voice, particularly as some fans don't even like the inclusion of a voiced protagonist.

You've a point, though I don't think they'll do too badly with the Hawkes, provided you played them consistently as one of the personality types. It does get tricky in certain cases (I romanced Merrill with a Hawke that was diplomatic with her and aggressive with everybody else), but they'll definitely run into problems if they decide to include either (Fereldan or Orlesian) Warden.

Given the chance, I would customize the heck out of my Warden / Hawke.

It doesn't matter if I can't customize the Warden and Hawke just as long as I get the MWarden from the DAO trailer and MHawke. Not some ginger and FHawke.

 

Spoke too soon, seems like only Hawke is returning. Well I'm cool with that too. My warden went into the mirror anyway. I just hope we can choose the default Hawke's gender.

I'll customize my canon Warden defo and I'll just use the default fem Hawke model again, I preferred it to any I made myself. All I'm hoping for really is a good reunion scene with Leliana, I'm sure the rest of my choices after that will fall into place. I'm surprised they are even bringing the two heroes back, I thought they said they would be a no show, sly Bioware very sly.

but as long as they consider your previous choices and let you create the character again there is no problem at all

Opinions are such an intriguing novelty, right? 

certain players just have their personal headcanon of how their warden was and did and they are just butthurt that that will be taken away but thats their fault
this is not freaking fanfiction even though we made the characters Bioware can use them again as long as they handle them well

Certain players just have a general idea of how well it'll go, if Revan and the Exile is anything to base this upon.
It's impossible for this to live up to the expectations of everyone, and that's the truth of course.
