Am I misunderstanding the newest trailer at 5 AM?

The Inquisitor was fighting a demon who mimiced his appearance and abilities. An interesting battle. The demonic voice and glowing green eyes were kinda a spoiler.

That "YOU ARE A MISTAKE, YOU SHOULD NOT EXIST" line got me thinking though.

Could have just been saying that because the Inquisitor was not supposed to survive the veil tear.

I think the demon theory is correct. This is sort off-topic, but I also started thinking that the Inquisitor and the Elder One might share some kind of Harry Potter/Voldemort sort of connection: that the Inquisitor's green hand is somehow tied to the Elder One, and [spoilers for HP, in case someone cares ]

he/she must sacrifice his/herself to defeat the villain. But since you can play after the completion of the main quest, I'm thinking the Inquisitor would only be sacrificing their power, or would somehow be brought back to life, much like Harry.

 

But I kinda hope this doesn't happen.

Sloth demons are able to do that according to the lore:
