LOL what? You only consider a game worth buying if you can mod it? Then you probably shouldn't buy DAI, but we all know you will anyway.

And you were proven right. Congrats :)

If you look at his latest posts, he has been playing.

[edit]

I will also add that for Skyrim, the extensive modding was done from a NEED to make the game properly playable.

If the developer spends the time needed to polish the game in the first place, modding will not be such a big thing. So in a sense, a game with thousands of mods reflects badly on the developer.

You had not heard of sims 3 then... that game (EA by the way) had to be SEVERELY MODDED to even run in an ending PC without CTD and LAG issues (offline game, unless you count showtime)

Yes, mods can give games great replay ability, just look at Skryim. Dragonage Origins also had great mods that made me play through it like 10 times

EA doesn't want games with 'great' replay capability. They want games which are just replayable enough so that the consumer is marginally satisfied, but ready to move on and buy the next EA game. The last thing they want is a modding community ala Skyrim's to spring up and keep people attached to old games that have been improved by modders to such an extent that they outshine the next serving of EA pap.

There's not going to be an override directory for DAI. It's time to face reality: quality PC RPG's from Bioware are a thing of the past. Their people have made it crystal clear that they are focused on 'next gen consoles'. Now, there is nothing wrong with that. Bioware employs some truly impressive people, and I expect that they will make many outstanding console games for which PC versions are co-developed as well. However, there will never again be design decisions that put the desires of PC rpg gamers first. Those of us in the small and (relatively) decreasing market for PC rpg games need to face reality and move on. Nothing lasts forever. I've had a great time playing Bioware games over the past twenty years, but it looks like DA2 will end up being my last purchase.

I don't understand this desire to mod characters in western games to look like anime. There are tons of Eastern RPGs. Why not just play one of those? The more rugged realistic looks of western rpg characters are part of the grittier feel of the genre.

But hey, I guess I'm glad this is from a mod and not the base game. The beauty of mods.

I am so desperate to get some good looking hair for my Inquisitor that I'm willing to make the meshes myself. Only, I have no idea how to do it and I haven't modded before? Does anything know of a good place to start learning how to do it for DA:I? Google hasn't been very helpful =/

Edit: sorry, wrong quote. Dunno why.

I disagree with that wholeheartedly, Skyrim was quite playable out of the box."

Answer for this:
I am pretty sure u are talking about Pc. Because Skyrim was UNPLAYABLE on ps3. Literally after the first 3 hours it started to become a slideshow. And even today I cannot play it because my save file is bigger than 15Mb and freeze the system constantly. Will never buy an other Beth game, maybe just after a year. And ONLY f it is reported to be playable by costumers.
So no. Anyone says it was playable out of box, is just simply not true. At all. Not even a little.
